y a resident of Chicago, in the eonntyof Cook and State of Illinois, have inventeda new and y Improved Bnbbitting Device, of which the following isa full, clear, and exact description. The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved babbittng device designed for babbitting the hubs of loose pulleys, idler-s, and like. articles and arranged .to keep the pulley or other article in proper central position relative to the core or shaft to insure the proper formation of the babbitt x5 bearing and requiring no subsequent boring I or turning of the bearing.

Now when the several parts are in the position shown in Fig. l and the Babbitt metalis poured into the channel D2 then it flows into the recess A4 and fills the saine around the shaft or core B, as the collar C prevent-s escape of the merel from the recess. Air can escape from ihe recess At through the airvent Diso that the Babbitt metal forms a homo; geneous bearing, thereby avoiding undesirable blow-holes. New byhaving the ridges C' and D' engaging seats en the ends of `the huhA' the latter is heldin perfect true position relative to the shaft or core B, so that the babbitt material poured into the recess A* forinsa bearing for the pulley A.
