Application filed November 18, 1901. Burial New 82,730. I (N model.)
To all whom it may concern- 1 Be itknown that I, JULIUS BLACK, a citizen of the United. States, residing at the city of Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Immovements in' Garment-Hangers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in garment-hangers, It is particularly adapted to as a'suit-hanger lfor womens garments.
The object of the invention isto provide a .simple eflicient garment-hanger which adjusts I automatically to garments ofdifferentsizes I and holds them fully distended and that is at r 5 the same time simple in its, operation and economical to manufacture;
"Minorobjeets/wil'l definitely appear from the detailed-description tofollo'w.. 4 I accomplish the objects ofmy invention .-:o by the devices, and means described in -this I I ic'ally adjusts itself to skirts of d-ifierent sizes.
specificatiom The invention isclearlyldefined, and pointed out in the claims.
- panying drawings, forming-apartbt this specification, in which--. Figure l is a front elevation view-of a garment-hanger embodying the features otmy. 3o invention, the adjustments of the same being indicated by dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a detail transverse sectional view taken ona line cor-- responding tolin'e2 2 of Fig. 1,. showing the,
guiding of the parts on the center-rod. Fig. ..35- 3 is 'a detail. sectional .viewtaken' .on a line corresponding to lined 3o! Fig. 1, showing .the preferred pivot-join't'at the bottom. Fig."
4 is a side elevation view of the structure with a skirt in position =npon the same, the .40 position and aditilsdtment the parts assume in use being indica ,by dotted lines.
I In the drawings an of the sectional views are taken looking in the direction of .the'lietle arrows at the ends of the section-lines,
' and similar letters of reference refer-to'simi I I I bracing said. support, whereby said armsare.
.- In witness whereotlhave hereunto setmy v lar parts-throughout the several views.
armsBB. This is conveniently-accomplished bypassing the en to through suitable-polic rations in the arms and forming a head there on to retain the parts together. The outer ends of the arms B are curved upwardly and inwardly at B, with a small outturned hook eat the endto prevent the garmentslipping over the same. The arms B B are supported and held normally upward by the'spring-supports 0 C, which are pivotally secured to the I arms, as at a. a, and formed into coilsat c c'to form springs and looped around the supporting-rod A at C" to hold the parts in position; which is. a very convenient-form of inanufacture. hen a skirt is placed upon the arms B, .the weight of the same pulls them downwardly against the-tension ot'the I springs 'O 0 until the band isdrawn taut,
thus holding the skirt'distended 7o I It win he noted that the extent of the move; Y
