IMPROVEMENT IN GANG-PLOUGHS.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
-Be it known that I, G. C. AVERY, of Conns Creek, county of Shelby, and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and usefulImprovements in Ploughs; and Ido -hereby declare that the following:r is a full and exact description of the same, referenceheing had to the annexed drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, in which'- Figure 1 is a side elevation, and.

The nature of my invention consists in the combination and arrangement of such devices as will be hereinafter fully set forth.
A represents the body or framework of my machine, which is provided with wheels B B und seat C. D D D D are levers hingedv to the under side of the front cross-piece of frame A. To these levers are attached beams E E, to which the lplonghs F F are secured. G G represent two vertical bnrs, hinged to frame A, :is Shown at letter X in fig. 2.` Said bars are provided with a loop, a a. Tivo' of the centre `beams E E have staples b b driven in them, which slide in the loops a afas shown in fig.' 2.. a represents a crosspiece, connecting the vertical hars G G together. a is the handle, by means of which the driver controls the action of the two centre ploughs. H H represent two levers, pivoted at the centre of the machine, as indicated in fig. 1. g g are cords, which are secured at or near the end of said lever. The operation of my machine is as follows: The driver being seated, and the machine put in motion, th ploughs are either elevated or lowered, as the circumstances of' the occasion may require. It will he observed that the peculiar arrangement oi' my invention is such that obstructions, such as stumps or stones, may be readily avoided, simply by moving the lever H.
