Letters Patent No. '67,713, dated August 13, 1867.
IMPROVEMENT IN CORN-SHELLERS.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JACOB BRINKERHOFF, of Auburn, in the State of New York, have invented a. certain new and useful Improvement in Corn-Shellers; and I hereby declare that the following is a true, full, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 in the annexed drawing represents a plan view of my'corn-sheller.
Figure 2 is av plan view of my improved metal plate.
My corn-sheller here exhibited, is similar to the one for which` I procured a patent dated February 28, 1865, and the description therein given will answer equally well for both, except in the particular hereinafter specified.
On the face of blocks g arevfastened ribbed metal plates d. These blocks being designed to press the ears of corn against the cylinder or Sheller G, the vertically ribbed plates will retain the ears longer infront of the several blocks g, so that the grains may be strippedy entirely from the cob before it passes out at the opening in the side of the Sheller. p
Having thus described my improvement, what Iclaim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isl- The ribbed plates d, in combination with blocks g, when operating as and for the purpose herein set forth.
