Description

No. 673,65l. Patented ma 7, l90l. s. w. BALDT.
L' AAAAA TOPP'ER.
llllllll I l l UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE W. BALDT, OF CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA.
LAD LE-STOPPER.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Letters Patent No. 673,651, dated May 7, 1901.
Application filed January 3, 1901. Serial No. 1,929. (No model.)
To (0Z7 whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. BALDT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chester, in the county of Delaware, State of Penn-v sylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ladle-Stoppers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of an improvedladlestopper, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
The accompanying drawing represents a side elevation of a ladle-stopper constructed in accordance with my invention.
A designates the stopper, and B the stopper-rod.
C, D, and E designate in dotted lines nozzles of different diameters for the purpose of illustrating the application of my invention.
My invention provides a single stopper that effectually seals nozzles of different size, and the construction consists in making the stopper with a plurality of seats F, G, and H of that each seat tapers toward its lower end,
and it will be further seen that the lower end of each seat is practically the same diameter as the upper end of the next seat below.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A ladle-stopper having a plurality of curved ridges of different diameters, forming seats.
GEORGE W. BALDT. Witnesses:
