LIFE-SAVING CORSET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 660,420, dated October 23, 1900.
Application filed April 5, 1900.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that LOHARLES ORLANDO DUT- the upper portion of its lining an inflatable rubber bag provided at one end thereof with a tube for inflating the bag and at the other end with a receptacle for a stimulant, which is also provided with a rubber tube for the mouth thereof and intended to resuscitate the person thus exposed to the elements, the parts being constructed in detail, as hereinafter more particularly described.
Figure 1 is a perspective View of my lifesaving corset. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail of the end of my inflating-tube. Fig. 3 is a sectional perspective view of the rubber lining at the back of the corset.
In the drawings like letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure.
A is the corset.
B is the rubber lining, which is in the form of an elongated bag and is attached to the corset securely at the top and bottom.
0 is the rubber tube, provided with a suitable screw-top c, which is attached to the tube by a chain c. The tube 0 when not in use is held in place by the strap 0 At the opposite end of the bag andat the corner thereof is a small receptacle D, which is preferably of glass covered with wicker. What I claim as my invention is In a corset the combination with the body thereof of an elongated rubber bag, as a lining with a tube from one corner, having a screw-top attached to a retaining-chain, and a receptacle in an upper corner fitted with a tube from its mouth, and a second tube intermediate of the length of the first tube and attached thereto, as and for the purpose specified.
