ne it known mm1, Epwm R. STORM, a 'atizen of the United` States,l residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented anew and useful Divisible ihelf, of which the follow-ingis a specification.

My invention relates to shelving or stands for hooks, cards, photographs, or other articles which it is desired to place on edge and hold in an upright position; and the objects .f my invention are, first, to provide a shelf with partitions for dividing the shelf or stand in to suitable spaces for the reception of books or articles, and, second, topro'vide a partition that may readily he adjusted to place or rcadjusted whenever it may be desired to change the spacing. by means of the devices illustrated in the acco'ni partying drawings, in which- Figure l is an isometrical projection of the shelf or stand with-zt number of the partitions indicated. Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the shelf or stand, showing lhe holes'in the base and back-piece. Fig.v 3 is a view of one of the partitions. Fig. 4 is au end view ofthe snelf or stand, showing the partition iu place. Fig. 5 is a cross-section of the shelf or stand, showing a form of sheet-metal construction.

The shelf 4or stand shown in Fig. 1 consists of a base 1 and aback-piece2and is formed of any suitable material and joined at I in any convenient manner, so that the backpiect- 3 will be perpendicular to the base 1, as indicated. The base 1 is provided with in a line parallel to the front edge of the base 1. The u'pperedge of the back-piece 2 is provi-led with the series of holes 5, registering with the holes 4 and in a line parallel thereto.

The movable partitions G, formed as indicated at Fig. 3, have their ends a fitted t'o euter the holes 4 and their ends b fitted to en ter the holes 5. As indicated in Fig. 5, the base 1 and back piece 2 may be formed of sheet met-al.

In Fig. 6 is shown a variation in which the base 1 is provided with a row of holes along two edges and a back-piece i. placed along. the center line midway between the two rows of holes A, the upper edge of the hack-picce 2 being provided with two rows of holes 5, thus forming a double shelf or stand.

Having described my invention, I claimV and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1.
