TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, ISAAC STRAUB, of the county of Kenton, and State of Kentucky, have invented an Improvement in Portable Grinding-Mills; and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a. part of this specification, in which Figure 1 represents a perspective view of that class of portable grinding-mills that require the stones to be lifted out of the mill-flame when necessary to be dressed.
Figure 2 represents the tram-supports.
The nature of my invention consists in an additional tram-support, by nieans of which the millstone is perfectly re-set in its former position, and in tram with the runner after it had been removed and dressed.
The upper stone represents the bed-stone. I-I'eretofore the difliculty in replacing the millstone has been to I get it to its former and proper relative position with the runner, where four tram-supports have been used, at equi-distances apart. I therefore add, what I style a true register, a fifth tram'support, located between any two of the other supports, as seen at b, figs. 1 and 2. The ordinary tram-supports are lettered a a a a, and shown also at figs. 1 and 2, and by my odd tram-support b I always secure a perfect tram and correct position of the relative parts to fit precisely, as before the stone was removed. The bolt 6 is the same in construction as bolt a, which I do not claim, but 0 What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The bolt 6, when used in combination with tram-bolts a a a a, for the purposes substantially as described.
