Referring to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, Figures 1 and 2 are side Views of counterpart plates that form the case of the lock. Figs. 3 and 4 are like views of the plate shown in Fig. 2, showing the operative parts of the lock arranged in operative position and relation thereon. Fig. 5 is an end view of the completed lock. Fig. 6 is an end view of a socket for receiving the bolt of the lock.
Like letters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
A B are counterpart plates having opposite recesses A B in the inner faces thereof and opposite recesses A B in the bottoms of the recesses A B, one of such plates, B, being provided with a bolt-stopping lug B springsupporting lugs B B and a keyhole B.
G is a bolt adapted to be contained and slid in the recesses A B in the plates A B and provided with stopping-detents C O and an actuating-lug C D is a curved spring confined endwise between the supporting-lugs B B on the plate B and holding the bolt 0 into engagement with the bolt-stopping lug 13 E is a rivet securing the plates A B to= gether.
F is a key which is inserted into the lock in such a manner that the bit thereof will enter the horizontal slot of the keyhole B. After the same has been turned to the position shown in Fig. 4 it may be withdrawn, the bit thereof passing out of the vertical slot of such keyhole.
l claim In alock, in combination, counterpart plates A B, having opposite recesses, A B, in the in ner faces thereof, and opposite recesses, A B in the bottoms of the recesses A B, one of such plates being provided with a bolt-stopping lug, B spring-supporting lugs, 13' B and a keyhole B, a bolt 0, adapted to be con tained and slid in the recesses, A B, in the plates, A B, and provided with stopping-detents, 0 C and an actuating-lug O and a spring D confined endwise between the supporting-lugs, B B on the plate B, and holding the bolt G into engagement with the boltstopping lug B substantially as and for the purpose specified.
