To all whom, it may concern;

Be it known that I, ANTON REIOHE, a cititen of the Kingdom of Saxony, in the Empire of Germany, residing at Planen, near Dresden, in the Kingdom of Saxony, Germany, have invented a certain new and useful Improved Border-Fillet for Placards; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form apart of this specification.

This invention relates to the structure of a border-fillet in which a light fillet of great rigidity is secured, adapted to firmly clamp a placard or the like. To this end the fillet is provided with two leg members of different width and an intermediate cylindrical bead forming the outer edge of the complete fillet.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a cross-sectional View of the fillet before being applied. Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the posit-ion assumed by the placard. Fig. 3 is a View showing the position of the fillet and placard when in the former. Fig. 4 is a view of the fillet when applied. Fig. 5 is a similar view in perspective. Figs. 6 and 7 show, respectively, a cross-sectional and a perspective view of a modification.

In fillets of this class it is essential that great rigidity be combined with lightness and that the fillet be bent so as to hold securely to the placard or the like to which it is applied. The fillet shown in the accompanying drawings is bent from a piece of sheet metal and when formed ready to be applied to the placard it is doubled intermediately', as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, to form a long leg 1 and a short leg 2, between which the edge of the placard d is placed. With the parts in this position they are placed into a machine and pressed into the position shown in Figs. 4c and 5. The front leg, as shown, is bent intermediately to present a sharp stiff corner ct along the face of the completed ar ticle, and the intermediate part of the fillet is formed into a cylindrical bead Z1, which gives the article a stiif rigid edge. The short leg is bent in to assume a position behind the upper part of the front leg, the edge of said leg being close to the rear face of the lower part of the front leg. As the placard is interposed between said legs it is pressed into angular shape.

As shown in Figs. 6 and 7, both legs and the interposed placard are concentrically bent.

I claim- 1. A fillet comprising a short and a long leg clamping the material between them with a cylindrical bead connecting them the said long leg having at an intermediate point thereof an angular corner or edge, substantially as described.

2. A fillet comprising a short and a long straight limb, said limbs being connected at one end by a hollow bead, extending thence parallel with each other and the long limb being bent across the edge of the short leg, substantially as described.
