7 TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERNS Be it known that I, J. H. ALDRICH, of Nashua, county of Hillsboro, State of New Hampshire, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Railroad Freight Cars. The following is a correct description thereof, with reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and letters marked thereon, making apart of this specifi cation.
My invention consists in constructing the car in such a. manner that live stock may be fed and watered while on transportation, with as much utility and economy as when in the owners stable at home. I will describe its construction and operation. I

Figure 2, a sectional view. I
Letters (1 a, in "fig, 1, are a door that may be opened or closed at pleasure, through which the stock may be fed or watered from the outside of the car. In fig. 2, letters B B are one side of a longitudinal trough, with lids placed, midway 'from top to bottom, in order that water may be carried in the lower' part, and at the same time the stock may be fed in the top part of the said trough. By means of said lids the necessary supply ol' water may be carried in the lower part of the feed trough from day to day while the stock are on transportation. Said trough is subdivided with partitions so that each creature has a separate trough. LettcrsC C are stanchions for holding each creature in its respective place. i
I am well awarethat there are a great variety of feed-boxes and troughs in use, and a very great amount. of live Stock that is crowded into freight cars and transported, (that sufi'cr pain, hunger, thirst, anddeathfi all of which I disclaim. I
