Be it known that I, Louis NosnLiNonr., a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented certain' new and useful Improvements in Fire-Crackers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention has for its object to provide an improved charge and stern in fire-crackers :o and the like which may be used with the ordinary form of cracker shell or body, or preferably a shell or body Whiehis substantially tubular in form and having a chamber to rereceive the explosive charge, the ends of the body being contracted to substantially close or choke said chamber, so as to retain the charge and resist the sudden exit of the explosive. The stem and charge of explosive are 'preferably found in a single structure l2o which is adapted to fit within the body or chamber' of a fire-cracker or other analogous firework. ln carrying out this portion of my invention `I provide a structure of inflammable material, such as paper, having au enlarged chamber to receive a' charge and au attenuated or reduced portion or stem extending therefrom in tubular form and con-` taining powder that is in communication with said charge.l l 3o Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, whereiu-' Figure l is a side elevation of a nre-cracker embodying my invention. Of course by makingthese pockets and stems in long continuous ,lengths it is cheaper than making each pocket and stem 9o independently; but it will be understood that the latter course may be pursued, if desired.

I do not limit my invention to the precise details of construction shown and described, as they may be varied without departing from the spirit thereof.
