Be' it known that I, JOSIAH FISE, of the town of Smelser, in the county of Grant, and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new mode for'constructing and Operating;l Double Plougbs; and I do hereby declare that the following .isa full, clear,'and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures marked as reference thereon, making a part of this specification.

w I take a beam of any of the known forms and attach a tongue thereto. At the end of the tongue that joins the beam Irboltplates of iron, one n each side, as shown at Fignre 1, which passes back von each side of the beam 'snflicient to form a strong connection. Through. these plates, near their centre, I pass a. bolt, marked a,whichpasse`s through the point of the beam, thus forming a hinge. At the back end of these plates is a slot, marked b. The principle of this hinge is to allow the'tongue to be raised Aor lower-ed to give any required I depth of fanow-,and there hehl with a bolt passing through the slot b that tightens with a nut. To enable me toattach my team and change my plough to the right or left I bolt a plate two and one-half (z) inches broarl and ten (10) inehes long nearly ovcr the point of the forward plough by passing a bolt through near the centre of the plate and beam. At the back end of this plate is a' slot with a bolt passing'through it, and the beam allowing the plate to turn on its centre bolt. I attach my whipples to the forward end of this plate, with a bolt pussing through them and a strap' made fast to the plate 'behind them. To enable me to attach two ploughs I 'take a. bar ofiron. twenty inches long and four .inclres wide, markedFigure 3,'.and to this barI attach aplough of any of the known forms near the back end, marked C; I bolt this bar to the beam, near its joint, on the right side, (standing behind the plough.) On the left-hand side of the beam, near its joint, I'attach a bar similar to the first, b0lting to the beam and 'running back with an angle until it is any required' (listance from the beam for` another plough, and then turns 'parallel withthe beam und runs nearly'its length,where it is made .fast-to the beam with bolts holding it the same distance from the beam aswhere it. took the pnrallel. this bar'I attach the second ploug'h the same as the`first, far enough behind to admit the foul trash" and -stubblejto pass between them; This`,plough has handles as other ploughs. A
