SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 622,370, dated April 4, 1899.
Application filed November 16 1898. Serial No. 696,597. (No model.)

Be it known that I, GEORGE W. KIEcHEoE- FER, a resident of the borough of Manhattan, K
city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brackets, of which the following is a specification.-
My invention relates to brackets for suspending bird-cages or hanging baskets and the like upon a wall without marring the same.
In the accompanying drawings I have shown a bracket embodying my invention, together with its application to a Wall.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 is a side View of the bracket, showing the same in position on a wall; and Fig. 2 is a rear view of the supporting device forming part thereof.
In the drawings, a is the base of the bracket, which is preferably in the form of a plate and likewise preferably provided with at least three points for application to a wall, b, c, and
cl. A rod or other projection e extends from the base. The base and rod constitute a sup- @,thus constituting a biilar suspension. The rod e may likewise be provided with a hanger j, which is preferably in -the form of a hook adjustable along the rod e.
-In using the bracket the base a is placed against the Wall Without being secured thereto, and the hook h is engaged over the molding fi, the bracket being thereby suspended and pressed against the wall by its own weight or the'weight of a bird-cage or other article B.
It will of course be understood that the details of construction may be departed from without departing from the spirit of my invention.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination of a supporting device oo mprisinga base resting against a wall but unattached thereto and a projection from said base, and a continuous bilar suspension device secured to the projection at a point remote from said wall and to a point of the supporting device near said wall and passing through a ring or other support above the said supporting device so that the device will be self-adjusting, substantially as described and for the purposes set forth.
