Description

lrrn Ans l J OHN VAN DEVELDE, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO HERBERT I-I. HYMAN, OF SAME PLACE.
BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 610,695, dated September 13, 1898. Application filed June 11,1897. Serial No. 640,380. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN VAN DEVELDE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Ouyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to paper bottles; and it consists in the new constructions and adaptation of paper material for the purpose as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawing the figure is a vertical section of a bottle embodying my improvements.
A represents the body of the bottle, which consists of two paper cylinders, one contained within the other. The outer cylinder is provided with a plain bottom M, integral with said cylinder. The other cylinder is provided with a head B, plain on its outside and provided with a neck 0, extending inward and adapted to receive a stopper. The inner surfaces of these bottles are coated with pit-ch or its equivalent, adapting them for containing liquids.
Having described my invention, what I claim is- 1. As a new article of manufacture, a paper bottle for containing liquids, consisting of two cylinders, one fitted within the other, one of said cylinders being provided with an integral plain bottom, and the other with a thickened head, plain on its outside and provided with a neck extending inward and adapted to receive a stopper, substantially as described.
2. A paper bottle for containing liquids consisting of two telescoping cylinders, one having a plain bottom M, and the other a thickened head 13, smooth on its outside and provided with an inwardly-projecting neck 0, adapted to receive a stopper, said bottle being coated on its inside with pitch, or equivalent substance, snbstantially as described.
