Be it known that 1, JOHN FINLEY, a citizen of the United States,and-a resident of Granby, in the county of Newton and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful ,Improvements in Doubletrces; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had .to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, whichform a part of this specification.

This invention'is designed to provide an improved doubletree f0r two-horse buggies and other like vehicles; and it consists in the novel construction and combination of parts, all as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the appended claim. I Referring to the accompanying drawings, the letter A designates the doubletree-bar, which is constructed from a piece of good timber steamed and bent into forwardlye arched form. Secured to the upper and lower sides of the bar are fiat iron plates B, which extend the full length thereof, with reduced projecting end portions which are bent forwardly into parallel position to form-clevises B for the singletrees O, the latter being secured'thereinby center bolts D, with nuts 01' at the under side.
