SPECIFICATJO.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;
vBe it known that we, H. W. Dorp, and CHARLES-P. WEISS, of the city of Bualo, county ot Erie, and State of New Yorl, have -invented a new and improved skate; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had lto the ccompanyingdrewings, and to the letters i of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of' the model. A is the foot-plate secured to the runner; B Bare two angle levers, having their' fnlcra attached to the foot-plate A. These are provided on one end with two .movable jaws C C, and are connected at the other 'end to re.` connecting rod D; C C-are two jaws on levers B B. These` are movable, independent of said levers, for the purpose of accommodating themselves to the ehape of the hoot. They are intended to clamp the sole between them, so as to hold the boot rmlyto the faceplate; D D is a. connecting rod, having an end secured tothe two levers B B, and the other end to a, levei` E. It is providedw'ith.n'conpling, d, in
its middle, by which the levers B B and jaws C C are adjusted, so that said jaws may at any time be setto lit thc sole of the hoot exactly.
