Description

(No Model.) y
P. OTHAYNE.
D'RYING FRAME. No. 595,648. Patented Deo. 14
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
PATRICK OTHAYNE, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DRYING-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 595,648, dated December 14, 1897.
Application led February 9. 1897. Serial No. 622,615. (No model.)
T0 a/ZZ whom it moby concern.'
Be it known that I, PATRICK OTHAYNE, a resident of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drying-Frames, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to drying-frames, and has for its special object to produce a drying'- frame which will distend the pockets of ladies underwear, so that the said pockets may be stretched and dried while sostretched.
To this end my invention consists in the construction hereinafter set forth and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure l is a plan View of the two sections of the drying-frame put together; and Fig. 2 is a section on line 2 2 of Fig. 1, showing the fabric or pocket embraced between the sections of the drying-frame.
In the drawings, a a are curved base-scctions united at their ends h. Running across from base-section to base-section are curved transverse bars c, and running longitudinally of the structure and connected at each end to the base-bars are longitudinal bars d. The longitudinal bars d are also connected to the transverse bars c, as by means of loops c. The whole is so arranged as to give the frame an ovaloid shape. The inner and smaller section of the frame comprises bent base-bars verse bars c' and longitudinal bars d', joined kby the loops c', the smaller and inner section being similar to the outer section and of the same shape. The fabric A is stretched between these sections, as shown, and clamped in place thereby and held lthus `distended while drying.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. An ovaloid drying-frame for the purpose described, comprising a plurality of similar sections, each consisting of the bars a joined at b and having the curved longitudinal and transverse bars d c.
2. An Ovaloid drying-frame, wherein one section fits into the other so as to adapt the frame to stretch a portion of a garment between the said sections, comprising ovaloid sections each consisting of the Ycurved bars a joined at b, and curved bars secured at each of their ends to the curved bars a, substantially as described and for the purposesset Witnesses:
