Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIGE..
WM. ARROUQUIER, 0F WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS.
IMPROVED STAGlNG.
Speeilication forming part of Letters Patent No. 58,571, dated October 9, 1866.
' To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WM. ARROUQUIER, of the city and county of Worcester, and Commonwealth of VlVIassachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Staging; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings,i`orming a part of this speciiication, in which- Figure l represents a prespective view of my improved staging when applied to the side of a building', and Fig. 2 represents a section through one end of the staging.
In the drawings, A represents the side of a building, in which are Windows B B. C C are sui'iporting-pieees, which are fastened to the side ot the building by means ot' bolts which pass through both, as shown in the drawings. y
tiece C' is placed upon the inside of the window, while piece C is placed upon the outside. Piece C has a projecting arm, D, atthe top, which is supported by a brace, E, as fully shown in the drawings.
The lower ends ot' pieces C have a series of holes, b, through which bolts c can be passed to hold the piece F at any desired distance from the bottoms ot' pieces C C. The inner ends of pieces F F are provided with ears e, which pass by the edges of pieces C and have holes to receive bolts c. The outer ends of pieces F are supported by rods G and screwbolt eyes j' f. Pieces C C are provided with holes g g, so that they can be fastened to windows of dii'erent sizes.
It will be seen that the foot-board H can be supported at ditt'erent elevations by raising the pieces F F. Rods G Gr can be made adjustable to support the ends ot' pieces F F, or rods of di'erent lengths may bc employed.
Having described my improved staging, what I claim as new and of my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination and arrangement, with pieces C C', of the supporting-pieces D D, braces E E, and adjustable bottom pieces, F F, with their rods G, for supporting the footboards H I from the window of a building, as shown and described.
WM. ARROUQUIER.
