LOUIS BAROELOUX, OF STANBRIDGE, CANADA.
BALE-TIE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 580,841, dated April 20, 1897.
Application filed December 18, 1896. Serial No. 616,152. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, LOUIS BARCELOUX, a citizen of the Dominion of Canada, residing at Stanbridge, in the county of Missisquoi, Province of Quebec, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvementsin Bale- Ties and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to bale-ties; and it consists in the novel construction and combination of the parts hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure l is a front view of the end portions of the bale-tie, showing them disconnected. Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the end portions of the bale-tie connected together. Fig. 3 is a side view of the end portions of the bale-tie.
A is a portion of the wire which extends around the bale in the usual manner.
B is a loop forming one end portion of the bale-tie. V
O is a plate pivoted to a loop 0, formed at the other end portion of the wire A. The wire A is twisted upon itself behind the loops B and c. The plate 0 aifords a convenient plane surface upon which the weight of the bale can be marked in any approved manner.
The free end of the plate 0 is provided with a projection D, having a notch d for the loop B to engage with, and d is a keeper pivoted to the top of the projection D and preventing the loop from becoming disengaged from it.
What I claim is In a bale-tie, the combination, with a wire having loops at its ends, of a plate pivoted to one of the said loops and provided with a projection at its free end having a notch for engaging with the other said loop, and akeeper pivoted to the top of the said projection and preventing the loop from slipping off it, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
LOUIS BAROELOUX.
