TOLET APPLIANCE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 579,120, dated nach 1c, leer.
i Application iiled November 30, 1896. Serial No. 613,871. (No model.)
Tol all whom it mrt-7j concern.:
Be it known that I, MINNIE RHINE, a citi- `zen of the United States, and a resident of Wilmington, in the county of Newv Castle andV State of Delaware, haveinvented new and useful Improvements in Toilet Appliances; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description ofV said invcntion, reference being had to the aecompanying drawings, and to the figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to a toilet appliance; and its object is to provide a combined bracket washstand and soap and' towel holder which can be readily secured to a wall orother support and occupy but little room or space; and
it comprises in its structure a metal plate formed with lugs, with which engages a soap dish or holder which can be readily removed for cleansing; a bracket at the lower end, with which engages a ring or band, which forms a support for a washbowl, the construction beingsuch that the ring or band is held in a horizontal position when in use, but which can be let down when not in use, so as to occupy a vertical position, and fastening nails or screws for securing which also carry towel-holders. I
The invention consists' in the novel constructionand combination of parts hereinafter fully described and claimed.
`In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 a perspective view showing a toilet article or appliance constructed in accordance with my invention- Fig. 2 is a transverse sectional View of the sameon a reduced scale. Fig. 3 is an elevation of one of the securin g nails or screws. In the said drawings the reference-numeral 1 designates a metal plate having a hole or `aperture near each end -for the passage of a fastening nail or screw 2. These screws or nails are formed with a head 3, provided with a lug 4 and slot 5, with which engages a link t 6, which serves as L a towel'- holder. Then p these nails or screws are driven into the wall, ithelugs 4t will abut against thc plate 1 and prevent disengagement of the said links.
5 o Formed with said plate are inwardly-extending lugs '7, with which engage downwardlywhich supports a washbowl.
\ 18 rests in thespace the plate to a wall,
.extending ears 8 in the rear or inner side of a,soapholder 9, consisting of a disk-shaped receptacle of metal or other suitable material.
This soap-holder c an be readily removed for cleansing or other purposes by simply lifting it up, which will disengage the ears from the lugs. At thelower endet the plate is formed a bracket 10 for holding the band or ring This bracket at its outer end4 is formed with two upwardlyextending lugs 12 with a space therebetween, and located above the inner end of the bracket is an outwardly extending lug 13. This bracket and lugs are made integral with the plate l. The numeral la designates the ring orban d wh ich supports the washliowl 15. AtV its inner side the said ring is formed with two parallel arms 16, provided withstuds 17 and 18 neareach end, respectively. When in use, the ring will occupy a horizontal positiomthe stud 17 engaging withthe lng 13,while the stud this construction theiring will be securely held in position. Then not in use, thering is elevated, so that the stud 1S will clear the lugs 12, and is then pulled outward until the between the lugs 12. By`V stud 17 clears the end of lug 13. The ring can now be dropped down into a vertical position, as seen by dotted lines, Fig. l, so as to be out of the way.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim isw In a toilet appliance, the combination with the plate,'tl1e pivoted washbowl-holder and the removable soap-holder, of the fastening nails -or screws passing through .holes near the ends of said plate and formed with slotted heads with inwardlyextendin g lugs, and the links engaging' the slots in said heads and forming towel-holders, the construction being such that when the nails are driven home the lugs will abut against the plate and prevent disengagement of the inks, substantially as described. Y
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two subscribing witnesses.`
