HOUSEHOLD REMINDER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 573,319, dated December 15, 1896.

To whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE H. ALBEE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Windsor, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Household Reminders, of which the following is a specification.

The invention relates to the class of articles which are provided with convenient lists, the various items of which can be readily indicated for remindinghousekeepers of certain wants or things to be attended to.

The object of the invention is to produce a simple and inexpensive article of this class having a large number of items in the list conveniently arranged in such manner that any of them can be quickly observed and easily indicated when desired and as often as necessary by the use of conveniently-obtained means.

To this end the invention resides in an article having a back bearing a rotary disk, the back being provided with supporting means and having printed upon its face any useful or ornamental charts or advertising inscriptions or illustrations, and the disk having at its center a cushion for the reception of ordinary toilet-pins and around its rim a pad adapted to receive pins, with the space between the central and exterior cushions divided by radial lines, between which are marked the names comprising the list, as more particularly hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claim. Referring to the accompanying drawings, in which an article embodying the invention is illustrated, Figure 1 shows a plan of the article, and Fig. 2 shows a section of the article 011 a plane passing through the center of the disk.

In the views, 1 indicates the base or back, which is usually made of paper board or a similar stiff sheet material. This back can be out to any desired shape and size, and it is preferably provided with an eyelet 2, by

means of which it can be hung upon a sup port.

Pivotally connected with the back bya stud 3 is a disk 1-. This disk can be formed of paper-board or similar sheet material, and at its center it bears a pad or cushion 5, adapted to receive and retain ordinary toilet-pins. Around theedge of the disk is located another pad or cushion 6, which is adapted to temporarily receive and hold toilet-pins.

In the annular space between the central cushion and the peripheral pad are a number of radial lines, and between these line are marked or printed the names of the items to be included in the list. These names are preferably arranged in alphabetical order, and in the annular space left for the purpose the letters of the alphabet can be arranged opposite the proper names of the list to aid in finding the name desired.

Toilet-pins can be stuck into the central cushion, which forms a convenient receiver for holding-pins required for ordinary usage, and when it is wished to indicate any want or desire which is suggested by a name on the list a pin can be taken from the central cushion and thrust into the peripheral pad opposite the name suggesting the Want or desire. In the views this is represented by the pin 7, passing through the pad opposite the word Apples, which is readily found adjacent to the letter A. v

The disk is easily rotated by the hand in order to bring the names around for convenience in reading and for ease in thrusting the pins into the pad opposite the proper spaces. The names indicating the items of the list can of course be changed and altered, as desired, for various purposes.

A port-ion of the space on the back beyond the disk can be occupied by a calendar and more of the space can be utilized for advertising articles and trades, as shown, or artistic or advertising illustrations or characters can be applied.

I claim as my invention- A reminder having a back bearing inscriptions and provided with supporting means, and a disk pivotally connected with the hack provided with a central cushion and peripheral pad and bearing names radially arranged between the cushion and pad, substantially as specified.
