SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters I atent No. 569,994, dated October 27, 1896.

'in Spring-Beds; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable oth ers skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to spring-beds; and it consists in the novel construction and combination of the parts hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of the bed. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same.
A are three or more longitudinal bars, of iron or other strong material, provided with upwardly-curved ends a.
B are cross-pieces secured to the bottom portions of the bars A and holding them at the required distance apart.
G are cross-pieces secured to the upper end portions of the series of bars A.
D are longitudinal bars, of steel or other spring material, having their ends secured to the bars 0.
E are cross-bars, of steel or other spring material, having their ends secured to the outer bars D of the series of longitudinal Serial No. 591,364. (No model.)
spring-bars. The bars D and E are interlaced with each other, as shown in Fig. 1, and are free to slide in frictional contact with them. i
F are springs secured to the lower parts of the longitudinal bars A for the purpose of supporting their curved ends, and G are springs also secured to the bars A for supporting the middle parts of the spring-bars D.
The bars A, B, and 0 form a spring by which the interlaced spring-bars are supported.
V hat I claim is In a spring-bed, the combination, with a series of longitudinal bars A provided with upwardly-curved ends, cross-pieces B secured to the said bars, and cross-pieces O secured to their said curved ends; ofa series of springbars D secured to the cross-pieces G, a series of spring cross-bars E secured to the outer bars D and interlaced with and slidable upon the intermediate bars D, and springs interposed between the bars A and their curved ends, andbetween the bars A and D, substantially as set forth.
