IMPROVED MODE O F, CONNECTING THE'JOINTS 0F STOVE-PIPES AND WATER-CONDUCTORS.
I To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EZRA JOHNSON, of the town of Hermon, in the county of Penobscot and State of Maine, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Making and Fastening To gether of Stove-Pipes and Water-Conductors; and 'I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention consists in providing, after the pipe or funnel is put together in the common form, aclasp made of common Wire from one-sixteenth to one-eighth of an inch in diameter, varying according to size of pipe or funnel, in oblong form, (for commonsi'zed pipe the clasp should be one by two inches, as represented by letter 0, Figs. 1 and 3,) attached to the pipe, by a hinge made of sheet metal, made fast to pipe by rivet or its equivalent, (see Plates Nos. 1 and 3, letter 0;) also, a hand or loop made of sheet metal in Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 54,555, dated May 8, 1866.

What I claini as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The application to stove-pipes and waterconductors, the clasp and bolt, as herein described, to secure and make fast the connection, and to secure, also, the principle of this form of direct attachment and connection by rivet or its equivalent.
