Be it known that I, MARCUS A. ADLER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York city,in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented oer-- tain new and useful Improvements in Tailors Cutting-Tables, of which the following is a specification My invention relates especiallyto that class of cutting tables with a slot to receive the blade of a cutting knife and a rotary disk in which said slot is formed so that the knife can be turned to follow the lines of the pattern and thus obviate the necessity of shifting the cloth.
The invention consists in an improved construction of such a table and particularly in the mounting of the rotary disk.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure I represents a plan view of a cutting-table embodying my invention. Fig. II represents a vertical longitudinal section thereof. Fig. III represents a bottom view of the rotary disk detached, and on a larger scale than in the preceding figures.

The letter A indicates the table proper, which is mounted on suitable legs or framework B of any suitable construction.
0 indicates the rotary disk, which isfitted into an opening 0 of the table, and D in dicates the series of slots in the disk, the same being. parallel to and equidistant from each other. I
In order to permit and facilitate the desired rotary movement of the disk 0 it is mounted on a vertical central spindle .e (see Fig. 2) and also furnished with anti-friction rollersf, g, (see Fig. 3,) said spindle rising from the floor, and the anti-friction rollers bearing, respectively, against the vertical and horizontal edge of the opening 0, the latter having an inwardly-projecting peripheral flange constituting the said horizontal edge thereof. The horizontal flange upon which the vertically-placed friction-rollers bear, is located below the plane of the table-top, thus forming anannular shelf or track upon which said rollers travel as the disk is rotated. The placing of the rollers and their tracks is such that therotary disk is flush with the table-top and fills the opening 0 so that the upper surface of the table is not rendered uneven despite the use of the two sets of rollers. The double set of anti-friction rollers in combination with the central spindle bearing, gives to the rotary disk a very steady and easy movement, so that it will respond sensitively to the direction of the cutting knife.
The surface of the rotary disk 0 is approximately flush with the surface of the table A, so as to permit a free or unobstructed adj ust ment of the cloth upon the table; and when the table is applied to use, the desired knife is inserted into either of the slots D, and by the action of the knife, resulting from a twist from the hand of the operator, the disk G is turned upon its axis in one or the other direction so as to accommodate the knife to the shape of the pattern without moving the cloth. It is evident that asingle slot, instead of a series thereof, may be used, in the rotary disk 0.
