SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 531,726, dated January 1, 1895.

Be it known that I, JOHN N. IIUMES, of New York, county and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Lists, of which the following,r is a speeication.

This invention relates to devices upon whichalist of clothing orsiinilararticles may be kept, and it consists of a tablet having the designation of articles formed thereon and provided with lines of perforations through which a dexible marker may be passed to indicate the number of each article ot' which a record is to be kept. This is especially ap plicable for laundry,T lists.

The accompanying drawing shows a plan or front view of a device embodying my invention.

Referring 'by letter to the drawing A designates a tablet of any suitable material, such as paper, Celluloid, metal or the like. At one side this tablet has the names o. ot' articles printed or otherwise formed upon it, and a row of pertorations d', is provided in the tablet opposite each name. Above the perforations a are numerals a2, arranged in sequence.

A. is a flexible marker, here shown as a cord. It may be secured at one end to the tablet as at a3.

It will be seen that a single marker serves to indicate all of the articles, and as it is attached to the tablet it cannot be mislaid or lost.

In use the marker is rove or passed through the proper perforations to indicate the number of each article. The numbers recorded in the drawing are as follows: dress shirts,

Having described my invention, what I claim isl. A list consisting of a tablet having designations ot" articles formed thereon and a row of perforations opposite each designation and a marker consisting of a cord adapted to be rove through said perforations, substantially as specied.

2. Alistconsistingof a tablet having names of articles formed thereon and a row of numbered perforations opposite each name and a flexible marker secured at one end to the tab* let and adapted to be rovethrough the perforations, substantially as specied.

3. A laundry or other list consisting of a 55 tablet having` designating symbols thereon and provided with perforations in alignment therewith in combination with a flexible marker arranged to be reve through the perforations, substantially as shown and described.

4. A tablet, or backing, having points located thereon, a string secu red to said tablet, and adapted to be extended to the various points to engage therewith, and marginal data on said tablet to show the relations ot' the several points to each other.
