Description

D. P. PIERSON. STREET VENDERS CABINET.
{No Model.)
No. 522,486. Patented July 3,1894;
it UN TED STATES PATENT OFFICE."
DANIEL P. PIERSON, OF PITTSBURG, KANSAS.
S'TR'E'ET-VEN DERS CIABI N ET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 522,486, dated July 3, 1894. application filed May 5, 1894. Serial No. 510,216. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DANIEL P. PIERSON, a citizen of theUnited States, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Crawford and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Street-Venders Cabinets; and I do declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilledoin the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements instreetvender's cabinets, and aims to provide a compact outfit comprising removable trayswith an attachment for holding water whereby steam may be generated by the use of a gasoline burner supplied with oil from a suitable tank which forms a part of the combination kit, the steam being utilized for the purpose of heating and keeping fresh various articles as sausages, beans, &c.
.Afurther object of the invention is the provision of an outside receptacle with suitable cover, and having communication near its bottom, with the hot Water boiler, by which means boiling water may flow into said receptacle secured to the side for the purpose of washing dishes, (inc.
To these ends and to such others as the invention may pertain, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and adaptation of the parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and then specifically defined in the appended claim. .7 i
I clearly illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, which with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of my specification, and in which similar letters of reference indicate like parts throughout the several views in which- I Figure 1, is a vertical longitudinal view through the kit; Fig. 2, a view of the inner tray and steamer removed; Fig. 3, a view of the base, carrying the gasoline burner.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A, represents the main body portion of the kit, which is made of the tray 0. To the bottom of this tray are fastened the lugs b b, which are provided to keep the tray bottom a sufficient distance above the bottom of the boiler body portion, allowing water to flow between to prevent any possible burning of the food contained in the tray. This tray does not fill the whole body portion A, but has oneof its ends conforming in shape to the end of the boiler, and at its opposite end at a suitable distance above the bottom of the tray are the integral lugs d d, upon which is designed to rest one end of the screen D, its other rounding edge resting on a similar lug e secured to the inner wall of the body portion or boiler, so that when the screen is resting on the lugs, it will be in substantially, a horizontal plane. At one end of the body portion is secured the dish-washing receptacle E designed to hold water which comes through the apertures F, from the main boiler. This tank is provided with a suitable cover F. Beneath the main body portion is the removable base portion G which carries the burner I-I, connected by 'tube I with the reservoirJ secured alongside the boiler. K is a thumb screw for regulating the supply of oil or other fuel which is supplied to the burner. About the base por: tion is a series of perforations for the admission of air to aid in the combustion of the fuel.
The invention will be found to be compact parts, dish water, burner and oil tank, a cab inet for street vendors use is produced, which is portable, and one which will-keep articles of food fresh and warm.
- The top of the body portion is provided with the removable cover L, which may be readily removed when it is desired to remove the trays from the boiler.
and by the arrangementof the removable Having thus described my invention, what I claim. to be new, and desire to secure by Let te'rsPatent, is- I In combination the body portion A, carrying a compartment tray, a screen supported on lugs integral with the tray and with the end of the body portion, and a dish washing receptacle secured to the end of the body portion, having communication at its bottom with the boiler whereby heated water may flow to the dish washing compartment, and a base portion carrying a burner, oil receptacle and a thumb screw for regulating the flow of oil or gas, all snbstantialiyas shown and de- IO scribed.
In testimony whereof I affixmy signature in presence of two witnesses.
DANIEL P. PIERSON.
Witnesses:
