My invention'relates'to a stovewith heating spirals and has for its purpose to utilize the fuel and the heating-gases in a higher degree than is the case in the stoves constructed hitherto.
In order to make my meaning clear, I refer to the accompanying drawings, in which similar letters indicate similar parts, and in which- Figure 1 isa longitudinalsection of the under part of my improved stove. Fig. 2 is a section of Fig. 1 on line G H. Fig. 3 is alongitudinal section of a modified stove. Fig. 4 is a section of Fig. 3 on line E F. Fig. 5 shows a longitudinal section of Fig. 3 on line M N. Fig. 6 is a section of Fig. 3 on line 0 D. Fig. 7 is a section of Fig. 3 on line A B.
In carrying my invention into eftect,I construct my stove in such a manner, that the heating-spirals begin from the base of the stove and reach to the cap of the same, so that the whole surface of the stove is effective for the heating of the room.
Y is the fire-chamber, from which the heating-gases arise, as is shown by the full arrows in Figs. 1 and 3 of the drawings.
R and Sare the outer spirals, wound around the middle tube L serving for the circulation of the air and provided with an inner spiral 1.
While the spiral S receives the gases arising from the fire-chamber Y, the spiral R contains the air to be heated by the spiral S.

w at the upper part of the stove is the outlet for the air heated within the tube L.
The openings k, on the right side of Figs. 1 and 3, serve for the entrance of the cold air,which leaves the stove by passing through the openings w, opposite to the openings in, in order to enter the room to be heated.
0 is the chimney-funnel for the eduction dotted arrows, leaves the same, when heated,
by passing through the openings to on the opposite side of the stove, as 1s illustrated by the half dotted arrows in Figs. 1 and 3. By
the spirals R and S, reaching from the base to the top of the stove, the whole surface of the latter is utilized forthe heatlng of the room. The cold air lying generally on the floor of the room is sucked by the tube L through the openings it, whereby a regular and quick heating of the room 1s efiected.
The modification shown in Figs. 3 to 7 only differs from the stove in Figs. 1 and 2 by the arrangement of the outer-hearth wh 1le th e construction of the spirals R, S and L 1s similar to that of the stove in Figs. 1 and 2.
Having now fully described the nature of my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is- 1. In a stove, the combination of a cenwithin said tube, air-inlet openings communicating with the lower end of said tube, alroutlet openings communicating w th the upper end of the tube, spirals R and S arranged around the'tube L, and extending from the base of the stove to the upper end thereof, air inlet and outlet openings communicating with the spiral R, a fire chamber communicatmg with the lower end of the spiral S and an outlet for the products of combustion communicating with the upper end of the spiralS as specified.
2. In a stove, the combination of a centrally-arranged vertical tube L, a spiral I arranged vertically within the tube L, an alr inlet opening in the base of the stove and communicating with the lower end of the tube trally-arranged tube L, a spiral I arranged L, an air-outlet opening communicating with the upper end of the tube, spirals R and S arranged around the tube L and extending from the base to the top of the stove, a series of air inlet openings communicating with the spiral R at different points in the height thereof, air-outlet openings communicating with said spiral R opposite to the inlet openings a fire chamberY communicating with the lower end ro of the spiral S, and an outlet 0 communicating with the upper end of the spiral S, as and for the purpose specified.
