SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 515,204, dated February 20, 1894.

Be it known that I, ANTIME FUNTA'INE, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Northamptomin the county of Hampshire and State of Massachusetts, have invented new and useful Improvements in Corner- Brackets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improved brackets which are more especially designed for supporting shelves at thecorners of a room. Usually the horizontal supporting bracket arm has been supported with one edge thereof in contact with the wall against which the shelf lies, so that the shelf is only supported at and from its end by an area corresponding to the width of the bracket arm.

The object of this invention is to devise a corner bracket for supporting the ends of shelves which will have its horizontal bracket arm extended at quite a distance from the wall to and against which the back is screwed, or otherwise secured, so that the shelf may receive its support by the bracket at quite a distance from the end.

In the accompanying drawings the new and improved corner bracket is shown, Figure 1 being aperspective view showing it as applied in the corner of a room for the support by its bracket-arm of the shelf within its end. Fig. 2 is an elevation of the bracket,-shown as applied upon the wall,- as seen looking at the end of the bracket arm. Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing a shelf as supported within an alcove at both ends by the novel brackets.

A glance at the perspective View, Fig. 1, in connection with Fig. 2, clearly indicates the form and peculiar characteristics of the bracket, it being pointed out that it consists of the vertical back, a, to lie against the wall at, or near the corner, said back having at its Serial No.4.8L7l1. The bracket may be formed of cast iron, preferably integrally, or it may be produced in other metal or material.
