PACKAGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters latent No. 514,159, dated February 6, 1894.
Application filed March 23, 1893. Serial No. 467,366. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
- Be it known that I, CHARLES NELSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Packages, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a torpedo shaped package composed of an interior layer of paper or other flexible material a covering pasted to the interior layer and a wrapper stretched over the package and provided with a pointed tail as set forth in the following specification and claim and illustrated in the annexed drawing in which is shown an elevation of the package partly in section.
In the drawing the letterAindicates an interior layer of paper or other flexible material to which is pasted a covering or layer B of strong paper or such substance as linen.
' A wrapper O is stretched over'the package or contents of the package.
The contents are placed into the package before the tail. D is twisted shut.
The package is ornamental and suggestive for such articles for example as torpedoes which are shown at G as constituting the contents of the box.
The package is easily and cheaply formed and can be readily cut or opened at the perforation F of the diaphragm or stiffening piece E the rim of said opening F forming a guide by following which irregular or excessive tearing or rupturing of the package in Opening is prevented.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A torpedo shaped package composed of an interior layer of paper or other flexible material a covering pasted to the interior layer and a wrapper stretched over the package and provided with a pointed tail and a perforated stiffening piece placed in the bottom of said interior layer substantially :as described.
