Description

`(No Model.) J. HUBBNBR.
GAMBV-APPARATUS.
Patented Oct. 24. 1893..
@wy/www4 Q@ .-@womg/ JULIUS HUEBNER, OF MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
GAM E' APPARATU S.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 507,323, dated October 24, 1893.
Y Application iiled May 18, 1893. lSerial No. 474,614.. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern: I Y Be it known that I, .IULIUs IIUEBNER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee, and in the State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvementsin Game Apparatus; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My invention has for its object to provide a simple, economicalA game apparatus and it consists in certain peculiarities of construction and combination of parts hereinafter described with reference tov the accompanying drawings and subsequently claimed.
` In the drawings: Figure 1 represents a plan view'of my game 'apparatus partly in section on line '1 1 of the succeeding figure; Fig. 2, a longitudinal vertical section on line 2 2 of the preceding figure, and Fig. 3, a detail transverse section on line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
Referring by letter to the drawings, A represents a rectangular base provided with corner-posts B having endrails C and side-rails D joined thereto. Quarter circle partitions E join the end and side rails adjacent to the corners of the base A, and each of these partitions hlas a T-shaped slot therein. A preferably elliptical partition F is arranged on the base midway of its length and breadth, and thelatter partition'is provided with a series of 1T-shaped slots arranged at suitable interva s.
Within the elliptical partition Fcentral of Athe base A I arrange a chamber G surmounted by a suitably supported gong-bell II this chamber being shown as provided with a longitudinal T-shaped passage, although it would be no departure from my invention to have the passage transverse of said chamber or two such passages, one longitudinal and the other transverse, and in the latter case the passages would intercept each other. Arrangedin the passage of the chamber are spring-arms I having curved ends crossing each other within the bell I-I above specified.
Within the inclosures bounded by the pai'- titions above specified I set pins J, and it is preferable to give each of these pins an arbitrary valuation according to its position.
Fast to the inner side of one of the endrails C central of the same is a horizontally apertured block K having a vertical concavity on each side of the aperture, the latter being in register with an openingin said endrail.
A top L comprising a disk and depending stem is employed as part of my game apparatus, and in practice this top is held so that its stem rests in the concavities of the block K and the spinning cord M wound on said stern is passed through the aperture in said block and the registering opening in the adjacent end-rail. The top having been spunit will travel around the base A and is liable to pass in and out of the sub-divisions of said base through the T-shaped slots in the several partitions above specied. In case the top knocks down any of the pins the latter or their value counts for the player who spunsaid top. In case of the top passing through the chamber G the spring-arms I will be expanded to strike the bell, and sucha result has an arbitrary value that is added to the score of the player.
TvVhile I have shown a T-shaped top, and corresponding slots in the several partitions, this is more a matter of convenience than necessity, as tops and slots of other form may be as readily employed.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A game-apparatus comprising a suitable base, end and side rails bounding the same, slotted partitions joining the rails adjacent to the corners of the base, another slotted partition bounding an arbitrarily central subdivision of said base, a chamber inclosed within the latter partition and provided with a passage, a gong-bell sui-mounting the charnbcr, spring-arms arranged in the chamberpassage and having curved free ends crossing each other within the bell, aseries of pins for arrangement in the sub-divisions of the base, and a top that may pass through the partition-slots, and chamber-passage when spun on said base, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand, at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State ot'` Wiscousin, in the presence of two witnesses.
JULIUS HUEBNER.
