SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 503,815, dated August 22, 1893.

Application tiled August 11, 1892. Serial No. 442,757. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ROBERT H. WADE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Washington, in the District of Columbia, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Clothes-Forms, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates toa one piece clothes form so constructed that it will supportthe coat, vest and trousers, and can be laid dat to economize space when not in use.

The object of this invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive clothes form made of a flexible material and so constructed, that when adj usted,it will form a support, holding the coat and vestin practically the same shape the garments assume when on a persons back, and holding the trousers by the bottoms so that the entire Weight of the garment tends to keep it in good shape.

The accompanying drawings substantially illustrate myinvention but I do notintend to confine myself to this specific construction.

Figure 1. is a plan of the form laid Hat for transportation. Fig. 2. shows the form adjusted for the purpose of supporting the garments. Fig. 3. is an enlarged section on line a.. a. Fig. 1. and shows the construction of the cleats for supporting the trousers.

Like numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in the different views.

The plate 10 made of aV flexible material substantially the same shape illustrated by Fig. 1. when adjusted assumes the form illustrated by Fig. 2, very similar to a persons bust. and passing through the eyelet 13 when fastened on the hook 24 keepsthe form in proper shape. Thecord 11 fastened in the eyelets 15 provides a means for hanging the form to any convenient hook. The trousers are suspended from the form bottoms up and are held in that position by the cleats 2O and 21. The cleat. 21 is permanently iixed on the form 10 and the cleat 2O is hinged to it by the hinge 22. i

The bottoms of the trousers legs are placed between the cleats 2O and 21 which are then closed and heldin'position by the spring catch 23.

The cord 12 fastened in the eyelet letV I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patentl. A clothes form consisting of a iieXible plate of a shape adapted to be bent to approximately a bust form, and detachable means for 'retaining said plate in such bust form, said plate adapted when released to assume itsnormally flat position, substantially as described.

2. A clothes form consisting of a flexible plate having projecting shoulder pieces adapted to be bent together, means for securing the ends of said pieces together and to the main portion of the plate so that said plate will assume a bust form, and means attached to said plate for hanging the same, substantially as described.

3. A clothes form consisting of a ilexible plate having projecting shoulder pieces adapted to be bent together, a cord or chain for securing the ends of said pieces together and to the main portion of the plate so that said plate will assume a bust form, a cord or chain attachment to said plate for hanging the same, and an attachment to the main portion of said plate whereby trousers or other garments may be suspended therefrom,substan tiallyas described.

4. A clothes form composed of a ilexible plate, a cord or chain for securing the upper ends of said plate together and holding same vin a desired relation to the lower portion of said plate, a cord or chain attached to said plate for hanging the same, hinged cleats attached to said plate and meansforsecuringsaid cleats together for suspending the trousers.
