SPECIFICATION forming part ofLetters Patent No. 498,392, dated May 30; 1893. Application filed December 14, 1892. 7 Serial No. 455,113. (Model) Be it known that I, SILAS B. HILLS, a citizen ofthe Uni-ted States, residing at J ermyn, in the county of Lackawannaand State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Paint,Whitewash, and Calcimine Brushes; and I do hereby declarethe following to be at'ull, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable o th-' ers skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. Y c I My invention relates to improvements in paint, white wash and ealciminev brushes and it consists in the novel construction and ar rangement of a band adapted to be applied to a brush handle and serving the threefold purpose of firmly holding the bristles orbrush; the handle thereto and drip receptacle whereby surplus paint, white wash and calcimine from the brush arecaught and retained and prevented from running onthe handle of the brush, all as will be hereinafter'morefully explained and particularly pointed out in the appended claim."
