SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 494,843, dated April 4, 1893.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EUGENE CHABRE, a citizen of the French Republic, residing at Paris, France, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Spring-Busks; and I do declare the following to bea full, clear, and exact description of the same.

Theinvention has been patented in belgium under date of June 18, 1892,No. 100,081, and in Luxemburg under date of June 13, 1892, No. 1,635.

My invention relates particularly to a corsetor bust stay, formed in sections, which are connected by interposed springs in a special manner.

In the drawings-Figure I is an edge View of a stay having the usual pins or projections. Fig. 2 is a side View of the same. Fig. 3 is an edge view of the stay having eyes to receive the pins on the stay of Fig.1. Fig. 4 is a side view of the same. Fig. 5 is aside view of the attaching clip, and Fig. 6 is a sectional view of the same. p

The upper and lower parts of the stay A A and B B are connected by the springs C, preferably of spiral form, the ends of which are threaded about or embrace the threaded projections cl of the clips D. This clip has a slit 0 and transverse openings 2, the former receiving the end of the stay section and the latter receiving a cross bolt or pin, which to the direction of their spirals, or other wiseas desired. By means of the threaded extensions on the clips, the springs are detachahly held and may be readily attached and detached, the spirals of the springs when in place clasping the threads of the studs.

I claim- In combination the sections of the stay, the slitted clips secured thereto. by cross pins, the spiral springs and the means for holding said springs detachably, consisting of the threaded extensions on the clips adapted to receive the spirals of the springs, substantially as described.
