Description

(No Model.)
W. H. HOLT.
NECK YOKE.
No. 493,269. Patented Mar. 14, 1893.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM I-I. HOLT, OF BUSTI, NEW YORK.
NECK-YOKE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 493,269, dated March 14, 1893.
Application filed December 2, 1892. Serial No. 453,822. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM H. HOLT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Busti, in the county of Chautauqua and State of New York, have invented a certain new, useful, and valuable Improvement in Neck-Yoke Ends, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention has relation to irons adapted to be used on the end of a neck yoke, the iron being so constructed as to prevent the wear of the strap connecting the said neck yoke with the collar of the animal, and the said iron is also constructed so that the said strap cannot slip outof place in the said iron.
In the accompanying drawingsz-Figure 1, is a perspective view of the end of a neck yoke having my invention attached thereto. Fig. 2, is a plan viewof the end of a neck yoke having my invention attached thereto, and Fig. 3, a side view of the iron attached to the end of a neck yoke.
My invention is described as fo1lows:The neck yoke 1, has attached to each of its ends the annular piece of iron 2. Said annulus is provided with a staple 3, through which passes the ring 4, said ring having its two ends 5, extending outward from its periphery and parallel to each other. The two said ends are connected by the bolt 6, which has journaled on it the roller '7, and thereby reduce the friction and wear on the said strap. To prevent the said strap from slipping out of place the link 8, is placed around the ends 5, between the roller 7, and the outer periphery of the ring 4. This link 8, may consist of a piece of wire or it may be made of wrought iron and being placed around the ends it does not weaken the said ends and at the same time it will prevent the strap from slipping off the roller.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A neck yoke end consisting of a ring passing through a staple attached to the yoke, said ring having its two ends extended outward parallel to each other, a suitable roller journaled between the two parallel extended ends of said ring, and a link surrounding the two said extended ends between the roller and the periphery of the ring, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
W. H. HOLT.
