CHARLES C. KROUSE, HARRY E. MYERS, AND CHARLES L. GIRARD, OF
WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA; SAID MYERS AND GIRARD ASSIGN- ORS TO SAID KROUSE.
SUSPENDERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 487,149, dated November 29, 1892.
Application filed October 6, 1891. Serial No.- 407.920. (No model.)
' tions, and by cutting saidweb into suspenderlengths will form the two sides of the suspender, the two ends, and a solid back.
In the drawings, Figure 1 shows a strip of Suspender-webbing; and Fig. 2 is a similar view thereof, showing the webbing cut and divided into Suspender-lengths.
The same reference-letters denote the same parts throughout the figures.
A denotes the suspender-webbin g, woven in a continuous strip with the spaces or openings B Formed therein. WVhen the web is out,
as indicated by the dotted linear min Fig. 1, it will form the two sides 0, the two ends D, and the solid woven back E, without a seam or stitch in any part thereof. The buttonholes F may be Wovenin the webbing with the openings B or formed in any suitable manner in the ends D, and the sides 0 can be readily attached to the front ends of a suspender. By this construction a suspender or any number of suspenders are woven in one continuous piece, so as to produce a suspender at much less cost and at the same time of great durability and strength, as there are no seams or joints necessary.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
As a new article of manufacture, a strip of webbing woven with alternate long and short intervals of open spaces to form a series of seamless suspenders in one continuous strip, said strip adapted to be separated by cutting the strip at predetermined points to form suspenders, substantially as set forth.
In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands in the presence of two Witnesses.
