Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is- 1. The improved bridle-bit, combining with the mouth-piece having keys or inner bearin gs within the heads thereof cheek-pieces having pivotal pins 9 6 arranged on opposite sides of said innerbearin gs and havinga limited play at right angles to the axis of the mouth-piece substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

2. The improved bridle-bitherein described, in which is combined a mouth-piece open at opposite sides to allow the insertion of the pivotal pins or sections of the cheek-pieces and provided with key-holes 0,, extending at right angles to the longitudinal centers of said pins, cheek-pieces having pivotal sections or pins separate from one another at the longitudinal axial center of the mouthpiece to admit of the pins being inserted in the mouth-piece openings from opposite sides, and a key or pin secured in said key-hole a and extending into the place of separation between said pins and limiting or stopping the vertical movement of said pins, substantially as set forth.
