W F. LITGH. HOLDER FOR MUGILA'GE, INK. 850.
No. 465,183. Patented Dec. 15, 1891.
W W/i2 WITNESSES UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILBUR F. LITCH, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
HOLDER FOR MUCILAGE, INK, 86C.
SPECiFIGATION forming part of Letters. Patent No. 465,183, dated December 15, 1891.
Serial No. 401,461- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILBUR F. LrroH, a
Y citizen of the United States, residi n g in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Holders for Mucilage, Ink, &c., which improvement is fully set forth'in the following specification and accompanying drawings.
My invention consists of a holder for mucilage, &c.,consisting of a bottle or receptacle with a divisional wall therein, a lid with a depending brush, and an additional brush for fine work, the same being adapted to be attached to said wall and enter the apartment where the drip is received.
Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a holder embodying my invention, the lid being removed from the body thereof. Fig. 2 represents avertical section of the body. Fig. 3 represents a perspective view of a brush.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.
Referring to the drawings, A designates a body, which is formed of glass and having a' well B therein, one wall of which forms a partition 13, dividing the space Within the body A into two compartments 0 and D, one for holding mucilage, &c., and the other for receiving the drip from the brush or brushes and keeping the latter out of the mucilage or the material in the first-named compartment.
E designates a brush for heavy work, the same being connected with a lid F, and when not in use it occupies the compartment D. For light work I employ the brushes G, the handles of which are provided with hooks H, whereby said brushes may be hung upon the partition B. It will be seen that when the lid is displaced eitherbrush G may be dipped into the mucilage, &c., in the compartment G and the surplus removed by means of the scraper J, after which the brush may be used and then returned into the compartment D and hooked on the partition B, the small amount of mucilage from the brush dropping into said compartment, so that the brush is kept comparatively free of said material. The hook II is on the side of the handle below the top thereof, so that said top is free to be grasped.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A holder for nucilage, &,c., consisting of a body with a partition therein, a lid with an attached brush, and an additional brush which is provided with means whereby it may be hooked on said partition, substantially as described.
2. A holder for mucilage, consisting of a body having a partition therein, and a brush which is provided with a hook on the side of the handle below the top thereof, substantially as described; 4 v
3. A holder for mucilage, consisting of a body having a partition therein forming two chambers,a lid adapted to cover both of said chambers, a brush connected with said lid and adapted to enter either of said chambers, and an additional brush having a hook adapted to be fitted on said partition,'said parts being combined substantially as described.
\VILBUR F. LITCH.
