To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRANK CLEMENT Goon- ALL, a citizen of England, residing at 12 Parkfield, Richmond, in the county of Surrey, En g- 5 land, have invented an Improved Marine Gem- IO 29, 1890, No. 92,925; in Italy December 17,
1890, LVI, 234, and in Canada February 9, 1891 No. 35,971,) of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved mar 5 rine cement or water-proof coating for metals and other purpose, which is composed of asphaltum, ground cork, and boiled oil or other siccative oil. For this purpose I employ a mixture of forty parts, by weight, of hard as- 20 phaltum; forty parts, by weight, of liquid asphaltum; eight parts, by weight, of boiled oil, and twelve parts, by weight, of finely-ground cork.
The hard and liquid asphaltum are melted The boiled oil and cork are then added and intimately mixed, whereupon the cement is ready for application. It is then applied with a trowel or other suitable tool and always placed 0 next to the true surface of the iron or steel.
A marine cement consisting of a combination of asphaltum, ground cork, and boiled or other siccative oil, which latter has the efiect of making the asphaltum elastic and to reduce the tendency to melt.
