WIRE SCREEN HOLDER.
No. 438,974. Patented 001;. 21,1890.
Attorney v UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
PHILIP W. ZEIGLER, OF MANHATTAN, KANSAS.
WIRE-SCREEN HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 438,974, dated October 21, 1890.
Application filed June 7, 1890. Serial No. 354,641. (No model.)
T0 at whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, PHILIP W. ZEIGLER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Manhattan, in the county of Riley and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wire -Screen Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, referencebeinghadtotheaccompanyingdrawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of this invention and is a front View, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section.
This invention relates to certain improvements in wire-cloth stands or holders; and it consists in the novel construction and combination of parts, as will appear hereinafter.
In the drawings, A refers to an upright frame or holder, consisting of a horizontal base a, upon which are secured at their lower ends upwardly and inwardly inclined pieces a elf-one arranged at each corner and fastened at their upper ends to a top piece a This stand or frame A has secured to its base a supportsb, preferably of strap-iron, arranged a suitable distance apart, and to the supports at the side of the frame are secured at short intervals apart from bottom to top curved (preferably) spring-steel holders 0, through which pass rods or shafts (1, upon which are placed the rolls of wire-cloth for storage and sale. The end supports 1) are only adapted to support a single roll of wire-cloth, each having only one holder and rod. The rods or shafts d rest in notches and slots 01 d in the end uprights of the frame A.
The base a of the frame A is mounted at its 0 corners upon casters or rollers e, suitably connected thereto, and in its center is a pendent bolt f, connected to the fioor of the building, as also to said base, whereby said frame or holder is adapted to be revolved uponsaid casters to permit of the ready or convenient examination and handling of the rolls of Wire-cloth from a single point.
Having described this invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The wire-cloth holder having supports secured at its sides and ends, curved holders of spring metal, and the supporting rods or shafts upon which are placed the rolls of wire cloth, passing centrally through said springholders, whereby the rolls of cloth are prevented from recoil movement, substantially as set forth.
2. The Wire-cloth holder or stand rotatably mounted upon casters or rollers applied to the under side of its base near the corners, said stand also having a central bolt-connection with the floor and provided with the strap metal supports having curved spring-steel holders or brackets, and the supporting rods or shafts upon which are placed the rolls of cloth passing centrally through said springholders and having their ends engaging notches and slots in the end uprights of the frame or support, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I aiiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
PHILIP W. ZEIGLER.
