Description

(No Model.)
H. A. GARVEY. SAND SCREEN. No. 437,855. Patented Oct. 7, 1890.
@1 a 1L M fnvezzfarx UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY A. GARVEY, OF NEW' YORK, N. Y.
SAN D-SCREEN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 437,855, dated October 7, 1890.
Application filed December 17, 1889. Serial No. 334,141. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY A. GARVEY, of the city of New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Sand-Screens, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, being made a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a view of side of screen placed at its proper working angle. Fig. 2 is a front View of screen placed at same angle as shown in Fig. 1.
In Fig. l the screen rests on a pivoted block A, which works in a seat in block B, which is stationary. At top and bottom ends of screen are placed wheeled trucks, between which and the screen are springs K in coils, the springs finding their contact with screen at the leveljug-block C. To the ends of screen and levwheels to run on and impart a bouncing motion to the screen, which is intensified by the springs and delays the sand in its transit over the screen, thereby assuring a satisfactory result. The motion of the screen, which is partly rotary, is transmitted by the arm H, which works with adouble-stayed pin J on the screen, and similarly at the other end through an eccentric connection. The standards E are curved and secured to truck-floor and axle bearing.
Having thus described in y invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination of the screen, the wheeled trucks, and the springs operating in connection with the pivoted block and the arm H, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
HENRY A. GARVEY.
