SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 425,030, dated April 8, 1890.
Application filed September 18, 1889. Serial No. 323,801. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN T. GREENWOOD,
.a citizen of the United States, residing at Kalamazoo, county of Kalamazoo, State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Cultivators, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has for its object the construction of a cultivator-share standard, a share, and a brace to said standard, said three elements being made out of a single bar of metal.

In the drawings forming a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a side elevation, Fig. 2, same showing a change; and Fig. 3 is a sectional elevation on a vertical line near the bolt X in Fig. 2.
Referring to the lettered parts of the drawings,B will serve to illustrate a beam of a cultivator-frame. The standard, including the front bar D, the horizontal part E, which is bolted to the frame, and the downwardly-oblique brace O, somewhat resembles a triangle.
In Fig. 1 the front bar D of the standard terminates in a share at the lower end and the lower end of the brace C terminates just above said share end, at which point the end of the brace is bolted to the front bar by a bolt 00, passed through the hole 0. The boltm is not shown in Fig. 1, but appears in Fig. 3.
Figs. 2 and 3 show how other styles of shares may be attached to the standard by the same bolt 00 to adapt it for different uses. As in Fig. 2, the share is suitable for cultivating, while in Fig. 1 it is more especially adapted for harrowing. This harrow tooth can be made very cheaply, is strong, simple, and well braced.
If preferred, the bolt 00 may be dispensed with, as in Fig. 1, and the brace merely rest against the front bar D.
