SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 399,999, dated March 19, 1889.

To all whom it away concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS lllANAHAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Compositions for Treating Paper and other Fabrics, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is a composition which is intended particularly to render paper moth-proof, but which may be used with advantage for treatingother fabrics, such as muslin or cloth.
I11 carrying out my invention I take naphtl1alinesuch as known in the trade as sublimed naphthaline and melt the same, by preference,in awater-bath to the consistency of a watery liquid.
