UNITED STATES PATENT GEETcE,
SAMUEL SHREFFLER, J R, OF J OLIET, ILLINOIS.
TRACK FOR DOOR-HANGERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 396,772, dated January 29, 1889.
Application filed A ril 12, 1888. Serial No. 270,434. (No model.)
T0 aLZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL SHREFELER, J11, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Joliet, in the county of \Vill and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and usefulImprovements in Tracks for Door- Hangers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to certain improve ments in tracks for door-hangers, which improvements are fully set forth and explained in the following specification and claim, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and the letters and figures of reference thereon, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a section of track, and Fig. 2 is a crosssectional view of the track, showing the manner of securing it to a supporting-rail.
This track is intended to be made of metal, preferably of rolled steel, and is intended to be used with that class of door-hangers having doubletread wheels.
Referring to the drawin gs, the track is shown as being made of one integral piece of metal rolled to be in the form shown in crosssection in Fig. 2, resembling a pair of right angle angle-irons arranged lying side by side, so their vertical sides face and slightly incline toward each other, and connected about midway of their height by means of the integral web B, havingperforations D for nails or bolts to pass through for securing the track to a supporting-rail, as shown.
The horizontal parts 0 0 represent that part of the track upon which the hanger-wheels rest and travel, and the vertical members F F operate as guides for the hanger-wheels. By passing the nails through the web B it be com es unnecessary to pass nails through the parts 0 0, upon which the wheels travel, thus leaving the track perfectly free from obstructions from nail-heads; and by locating the web B about centrally between the vertical members F F it renders it possible to roll the track in one integral piece, as shown, and also renders-those parts stronger for use as guides to the wheels.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows, to wit:
The track for door-hangers, shown and described, consisting of the two vertically-arranged parallel guide members F F, having the integral Web B, provided with perforations D,and connecting said members midway of their height, and each said member having an ontwardly-extendin g flange, 0, forming wheeltracks, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
