Patent Dec. 9, 1975 GARBAGE CAN ENCLOSURE DEVICE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION joined to each other by a vertically placed elongated door type hinge assembly 20. The free ends 21, 22 of the panels 18, 19 of the front 17 and back 16 walls are joined to the vertical edges 23 of the end walls l4, 15
My present invention relates to a unique and novel by the vertically placed elongated door type hinge asenclosure device, wherein a plurality of garbage cans are enclosed within the device so that the garbage cans are not strewn around the yard.
A number of U.S. Pat. Nos. 700,820; 933,654; 1,251,786; 1,764,442; and 2,056,136 have been employed as enclosure devices, but these aforementioned devices have been related to trees and shrubs.
Accordingly, it is an object of my present invention to provide an enclosure device for a plurality of garbage cans, wherein the garbage cans are contained within the enclosure device, so that the garbage cans are prevented from being strewn around the surrounding yard.
A further object of my present invention is to provide an enclosure device formed of a colored thermoplastic substance, wherein the enclosure device is foldable into a compact easily stored unit.
A still further object of my present invention is to provide a garbage can enclosure device of simple design and relatively low manufacturing cost.
Briefly, my present invention comprises a rectangular frame having vertical front and rear walls as well as a pair of vertical end walls, wherein the walls are formed from a colored thermoplastic substance. A plurality of door type hinge assemblies join the walls together. A plurality of stake members are joined to the bottom of each hinge assembly, wherein the pointed end of the stake members are embedded into the ground.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The objects and features of the invention will be understood with reference to the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment of the invention, taken together with the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 illustrates a top perspective view of a garbage can enclosure device;
FIG. 2 illustrates a front view of a plurality of garbage cans contained in the garbage can enclosure device; and
FIG. 3 illustrates a front cross sectional view of a hinge assembly of the garbage can enclosure device.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Turning now descriptively to the drawings, in which similar reference characters denote similar elements throughout the several views, FIGS. 1-2 show a plurality of cylindrical shaped garbage cans having removable top lid covers 11 contained within a garbage can enclosure device 12, wherein the device 12 prevents the garbage cans 10 from being strewn over the surrounding yard. The device 10 can be folded into a compact unit for easy storage. The device 10 comprises a rectangular frame 13 having two rectangular shaped vertical end walls 14, 15, a vertical front wall 17, and a vertical back wall 16. The front 17 and back 16 walls are each formed from two identical size rectangular shaped panels l8, 19, wherein the panels 18, 19 are semblies 20.
As shown in FIG. 3, the pin member 24 of each hinge assembly 20 extends below the bottom edge 31 of a leaf portion 33 of each hinge assembly 20, wherein the bottom end 25 of each pin member 24 has a threaded outer surface 26 as shown in FIG. 3. A stake member 27 formed in a cone shaped configuration has a flat top lateral base 28 and a pointed lower end 29. The top lateral base 28 of each stake member 27 has a longitudinal threaded aperture 30, extending downward into member 27. Each stake member 27 screws onto the bottom end 25 of each pin member 24. Each stake member 27 is driven into the ground 32 as shown in FIG. 2, wherein the rectangular frame 13 formed from a colored thermoplastic substance is supported in a vertical plane.
The front 17, rear 16, and end 14, 15 walls of the device are formed from a colored thermoplastic substance such as polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, and polypropylene.
Hence, obvious changes may be made in the specific embodiment of the invention. described herein, such modifications being within the spirit and scope of the invention claimed, it is indicated that all matter contained herein is intended as an illustrative and not as limiting in scope.
