The contents of the tube are dispensed after the cap has been removed-by sliding the thumb or fingers of the user down the tube.
' 2 Claims, 6 Drawing Figures COLLAPSIBLE TUBE DISPENSER BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a dispenser for collapsible tubes.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The dispenser includes a holder for supporting the outlet and opposite ends of a collapsible tube in upright position with the outlet at the bottom. The holder is secured to a wall by suitable means such as adhesive so that the collapsible tube is positioned upright.
The dispensing of the contents of the tube is effected by pressingagainst the tube with the thumb or fingers and sliding the thumb or fingers downwardly along the tube until a suitable quantity of the contents has been dispensed.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a collapsible tube dispenser which is inexpensive to manufacture, simple to use and which occupies only slightly more space than the tube.
Other objects and advantages will become apparent in the following specification when considered in the light of the attached drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a front elevation of the invention;
FIG. 2 is a side elevation of the invention;
FIG. 3 is a rear elevation 'of the blank from which the dispenser is formed;
FIG. 4 is a transverse sectional view taken along the line 4-4 of FIG. 3 looking in the direction of the arrows;
FIG. 5 is a transverse sectional view taken along the line 55 of FIG. 3 looking in the direction of the arrows; and
FIG. 6 is a transverse sectional view taken along the line 66 of FIG. 3 looking in the direction of the arrows.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring now to the drawings in detail wherein like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the several figures the reference numeral 10 indicates generally a collapsible tube dispenser constructed in accordance with the invention.
The collapsible tube dispenser 10 is formed from a blank 11 of generally flat, flexible metal or plastic. The strip 11 has an arcuate lower edge 12 and an arcuate upper edge 13. An aperture 14 is formed in the strip 11 adjacent the lower edge 12 and an aperture 15 is formed in the strip 11 adjacent the arcuate edge 13. The aperture 14 is generally circular and has a pair of oppositely disposed extensions l6, 17 as can be seen in FIG. 1.
The aperture 15 has an arcuate upper edge 18 and a generally straight lower edge 19 which meet at their opposite ends in circular extensions 20, 21. The extensions l6, l7 and the extensions 20, 21 are provided for preventing the tearing of the strip 11 as it is folded into its final form.
The strip 11 has an adhesive backing 22 applied thereto to secure the dispenser 10 to a wall. A transverse fold line 23 is illustrated in FIG. 1 adjacent the arcuate lower edge 12 to delineate a flange 24 which extends perpendicularly, outwardly from the panel 11. A fold line 25 also extends transversely across the strip 1 1 adjacent the arcuate upper edge 13 to provide a forwardly extending support member 26 on the dispenser In the use and operation of the inventionthe dispenser 10 is first adhesively secured to a wall by means of the adhesive coating 22 and then a collapsible-tube 27 has the end 28.thereof opposite the cap 29 inserted through the aperture 15 so as to'be held by'the support member 26. The cap 29 'of the collapsible tube 27 is then pushed downwardly through the aperture 14 in the flange 24 to assume the position illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2. When it is desired to use the contents of the collapsible tube 27 the cap 29 is first removed and then the thumb or fingers of the user are pressed against the collapsible tube 27 adjacent the end 28 thereof and the thumb or fingers are moved downwardly while maintaining the pressure on the tube 27 to eject a portion of the contents of the tube 27 from the lower end thereof. The cap 29 is replaced on the tube 27 until its next use is desired.
Having thus described the preferred embodiment of the invention it shouldbe understood that numerous structural modifications and adaptations may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention.
I claim: a
l. A collapsible tube dispenser comprising in combination a collapsible tube and an elongate one piece flexible strip type holder, means on said holder for securing said holder to a wall, a flange integrally formed on the lower end of said dispenser and extending perpendicularly outwardly therefrom, an aperture formed in said flange to receive the dispensing end of the collapsible tube extending therethrough, an arcuate support bar integrally formed on the upper end of said holder delineated by an aperture having a straight generally horizontal lower edge and an arcuate upper edge, said bar offset outwardly of said holder in an arcuate form to provide an opening of a size and shape to receive an arcuate portion of the body of said collapsible tube therein for supporting the collapsible tube for removing the contents therefrom by inward and down-' its final form. 1

Claims (2)

1. A collapsible tube dispenser comprising in combination a collapsible tube and an elongate one piece flexible strip type holder, means on said holder for securing said holder to a wall, a flange integrally formed on the lower end of said dispenser and extending perpendicularly outwardly therefrom, an aperture formed in said flange to receive the dispensing end of the collapsible tube extending therethrough, an arcuate support bar integrally formed on the upper end of said holder delineated by an aperture having a straight generally horizontal lower edge and an arcuate upper edge, said bar offset outwardly of said holder in an arcuate form to provide an opening of a size and shape to receive an arcuate portion of the body of said collapsible tube therein for supporting the collapsible tube for removing the contents therefrom by inward and downward finger pressure thereon.
2. A device as claimed in claim 1 wherein the aperture in said flange is generally circular and includes a pair of spaced apart ear-like extensions which project toward the juncture of said flange with said dispenser to prevent the tearing of said holder as it is folded into its final form.
