(Cl. 222-100) This invention relates to dispensers and more particularly to a device for dispensing paste from a collapsible container.
An object of this invention is to provide a new and improved device for dispensing a viscous substance, such as tooth paste, from a collapsible container or tube.
Another object is to provide a dispenser having a housing in which the collapsible container is positionable and means operable from the exterior of the housing for progressively collapsing the container from one end thereof to cause its contents to be dispensed from an outlet at its other end which opens outwardly of the housing.
Still another object is to provide a new and improved dispenser for dispensing toothpaste and the like from a collapsible, elongate container tube wherein t-he dispenser is provided with a rotatable shaft or bar to which a attened closed end of the tube is connectable whereby the tube is progressively wrapped around the shaft and collapsed as the shaft or bar is rotated.
A further object is to provide a dispenser which includes a substantially angular housing having a slot in one end wall, a shaft extending transversely through the housing and mounted on the housing for rotation and for movement toward the slot in the end wall through which the neck of a collapsible tube is extendable, and a retainer bracket for securing the neck against movement relative to the housing during the progressive collapsing of the collapsible tube by the rotation of the shaft.
Still another object is to provide a dispenser which has a retainer bracket for securing the neck of different sizes of collapsible tubes extending through the slot of the end wall of the housing.
A still further object is to provide a dispenser which is easily securable to a supporting surface which is smooth, such as that provided by tile, glass, and the like.
Another object is to provide a dispenser having a substantially rectangular base plate securable to a supporting surface and a substantially rectangular housing having an open rear side which is telescopable over the base plate whereby the housing is r-eleasably supported by the base plate.
Still another object is to provide a dispenser in which the collapsible container is easily installed and from which it is easily removable.
Still another object is to provide a dispenser of the type described which is of simple economical construction having a minimum number of components and is easily cleaned.
Additional objects and advantages of the invention will be readily apparent from the reading of the following description of a device constructed in accordance with the invention, and reference to the accompanying drawings thereof, wherein:

Referring now to the drawings, the dispenser 20 is used to dispense or eject tooth paste or the like from an elongate collapsible tube 21 which has one end 122 flattened and closed, as by U-shaped closure clip 23, and its other end provided with a reduced neck 24 having a passage or aperture through which the contents of the tube are dispensed. The neck has the usual external threads or lateral protrusions 25 by means of which a closure cap is securable to the neck to close the outlet passage of the tube. The dispenser includes a substantially rectangular or boxed shaped housing 27 whose rear open side is closeable by a base plate 28 telescopable forwardly into the housing and frictionally engageable therewith. A pair of supports Z9 having outer layers or coats of a pressure sensitive adhesive are secured to the rear side or surface of the base plate in order that the base plate may be easily secured to a smooth surface, such as that of a bathroom tile, mirror, glass, and the like, by merely pressing the strips and the base plate therein against. The support strips may be provided with suitable cover strips which are peeled off to expose the layers of adhesive immediately prior to the mounting of the base plate on such smooth surface. The base plate may also be secured to a support structure by means of screws 29a which can extend'through the spaced apertures 29h of the base plate. The cover plate is provided at its corners with forwardly projecting pins 30 which are receivable in the rearwardly opening bores 31 of the internal reinforcing ribs 32 provided at the four (4) corners of the housing. The pins have a relatively tight frictional lit in the bores.
The housing includes a front wall 3S, vertical side Walls 36 and 37, and top and bottom end walls 38 and 39, respectively, which extend rearwardly from the front wall and are integral therewith. The extreme rear portions of the side walls and of the top wall have outer edge portions of reduced thickness to cause the internal surfaces of the rear portions of the side and end walls of the housing to deine an opening of substantially the same configuration and of the same dimensions as the peripheral edge or surface ofthe hase plate so that the housing may be snugly telescoped over the base plate. The reduction in width of the top and side walls also provides a substantially U- shaped stop shoulder or surface 42 which limits the telescoping movement of the housing over the base plate due to the engagement of the stop shoulder with outer portions of the forward surface of the base plate.
The bottom end wall 39 of the housing has a rearwardly extending and 'opening slot 45 whose forward end is defined by the arcuate shoulder or surface 46 and its sides by the parallel shoulders or surfaces 47 and 48 which extend rearwardly from opposite ends of the arcuate shoulder. The top surface 49 of the bottom wall adjacent the slot extends downwardly and inwardly toward the slot to provide clearance for the annular beveled portion 50 of the container and to reduce the thickness of the shoulder 46. The rear portion of the slot 45 is enlarged to provide the rearwardly facing shoulders 51 and 52 and the rearwardly extending shoulders 53 and 54. Either of the two sections 55 or 56 of the retainer bracket 57 may extend upwardly into the housing between rearwardly extending shoulders 53 and 54 when the other section extends forwardly below the 3 bottom end wall of the housing. The two retainer bracket sections extend from the connector or bend portion 58.
The section 55 has a slot 60 which divides the outer end portion thereof into two arms 61 and 62, the rear end of the slot being defined by the arcuate edge surface 63. The arcuate edge surface 63 of the slot 60 faces the arcuate edge 46 of the bottom endwall defining the inner end of its slot 45 when the retainer bracket is disposed below and parallel to the bottom end wall 39 with its arms 61 and 62 extending through the slots 64 and 65, respectively, of the retainer flange 66 which extends downwardly of the bottom end wall 39.
Since the two retainer bracket sections extend at an angle of more than ninety (90) degrees from each other, the section which extends upwardly into the housing, e.g. section 56 engages the base plate and is bent forwardly so that the other section is biased forwardly to cause the arcuate shoulders 63 and 46 of the retainer bracket and the bottom end wall to engage opposite surfaces of the neck 24 of the container above the lateral protrusion 25. The retainer bracket thus prevents upward displacement of the neck through the slots 63 and 46.
The section 56 of the retainer bracket is also provided with a slot 67 which divides the section 67 into two arms 68 and 69, the inner end of the slot being dened by the arcuate surface 70. The width of the slot 60 of the section 55 is considerably smaller than the width of the slot 67 of the section 56. The position of the bracket may be reversed if the neck 24 of the container is of a diameter larger than the width of the slot 60 to cause such neck to be received in the slot 67. The section 56 of the retainer bracket is then disposed below the bottom surface of the bottom end wall 39 and its arms 69 and 68 are received in the slots 64 and 65 of the retainer flange 66 of the bottom end wall and the section 55 then extends upwardly into the housing and bears against the forward surface of the base plate 2%.
The vertical side walls 37 and 38 of the housing are provided with aligned vertically extending slots 72 and 73, respectively, into which extend inwardly the hubs 74 and 75 of the disc shaped or circular knobs 77 and 78, respectively. The knobs 77 and 78 are disposed outwardly of the housing and may have circumferentially spaced ribs or corrugations. A flattened shaft or bar S has its opposite reduced or rounded ends 81 and 82 inserted into the hubs 74 and 75, respectively, and rigidly secured thereto. The knobs may be rigidly secured to the reduced end portions of the bar by an adhesive, by friction, or may be bonded thereto in any suitable manner. For example, the knobs may be formed of a plastic and their hubs may be telescoped on the reduced end portions of the bar while the substance of which the hubs are formed is in a deformable or plastic condition and is then allowed to set or solidify to bond to the reduced end portions. The knobs are rotatably and slidably disposed in the side Wall slots 72 and 73 and of course limits lateral displacement of the bar.
The bar has an elongate slot 84 through which is insertable the flattened end portion 22 of the collapsible tube 21, so that rotation of the bar about its longitudinal horizontal axis to be wrapped thereabout and collapsed to dispense or eject the tooth paste from the tube through the outlet aperture of its neck 24 which is held against upward movement relative to the housing by the retainer bracket.
In use, the base plate 28 is secured preferably in vertical position, to any suitable support structure if its surfacey is smooth by means of the support strips 29, or if its surface is rough or if it is otherwise desired, by means of the screws 29b which may extend through the longitudinally spaced holes or apertures 29b of the base plate into the support structure such as a wall. The flattened closed end portion of the collapsible tube 21 is then inserted through the slot 84 of the bar and the tube is pivotcd downwardly to the position illustrated in FIG- URES 4 and 5 while the bar is held against rotation to cause its threaded neck 24 to enter into the slot 45 of the bottom end wall 44 yof the housing. The upwardly and outwardly beveled or extending surface of the bottom end wall which conforms somewhat to the bevel of the annular portion 50 facilitates the proper positioning of the neck in the slot.
lf the neck 24 of the tube yis of a relatively small external diameter, the section 55 of the retainer bracket having the narrow slot 60 is then positioned below the bottom lsurface of the end wall 39 and is moved forwardly until the forward portions of its arms 61 and 62 extend into the slots 64 and 65, respectively, of the retainer ange 66 and opposite sides of the neck, which now extend through the two slots 45 and 60, are engaged by the arcuate shoulders 63 and 46 of the retainer bracket and of the bottom end wall, respectively.
The section 56 of the bracket then extends upwardly into the housing through the enlarged rear portion of the slot 45 of the bottom end wall and rearwardly at a slight angle. Its lateral displacement is limited by the sides or shoulders 53 and 54 of the bottom end wall dening the enlarged rear portion of the slot 45 thereof. The housing is then aligned with and moved rearwardly toward the base plate to cause it to telescope over the baes plate and to cause the pins 30 to enter into the bores 31. The section 56 of the retainer bracket contacts the front surface of the base plate and is bent forwardly relative to its other ,section 55 since the retainer bracket is made out of resilient easily cleanable substance, such as stainless steel or the like. This resilient bending or deformation of the retainer bracket causes its now horizontal section 5,5 to be resiliently biased forwardly and the neck 24 of the tube is thus rmly held by and between the arcuate surfaces 63 and 46. The engagement of the threads or other suitable lateral protrusions 25 of the neck with the retainer bracket now holds the neck against upward movement relative to the housing. The forward force exerted by the resilient retainer bracket on the neck 24 and thus Ion the bottom end wall of the housing is not suiiiciently great to overcome the frictional force with which the base plate engages the housing and thus does not move the housing forwardly and ofI the base plate. The cap 26 is then secured to the neck 24 to close it. The cap may, of course, have been secured to the neck during the installation of the tube in the housing if its upper end is spaced sufficiently from the uppermost threads or .protrusions 25 of the neck.
When it is desired to dispense tooth paste from the tube, the cap 26 is removed from the neck thereof and one of the knobs is rotated in the direction indicated by the arrow to cause the upper closed end of the end portion of the collapsible tube to be wrapped around the bar as the bar is thus rotated. Such wrapping of the upper closed end portions of the tube about the bar causes the tube .to collapse and forces the tooth paste or other substance contained in the tube outwardly through the outlet passage or aperture of its neck 24. During such rotation of the bar 80, the lower end of the tube tends to move rearwardly due to the force exerted on its upper end by the bar and thus into firm engagement with the bracket retainer and the shoulder 63 so that the upwardly facing surfaces of theV protrusions 25 engage the retainer plate and the neck is thus held against upward movement through the slots 45 and 60 of the bottom end wall and of the section 55 of the retainer bracket.
As the bar is rotated and the upper end portions of the tube wrap around the bar and progressively collapse, the hubs 74 and 75 of Vthe knobs are not only rotated in the s1ots72 and 73, in which they are positioned, but also slide downwardly therein as the length of the tube is shortened due to the wrapping -of its upper collopsed portions on the bar 80. It will be apparent that during the dispensing operation no appreciable forces are exerted on the housing tending to displace it forwardly from the base plate since substantially all of the force exerted on the knob and bar merely tends to pull the tube upwardly relative to the housing.
It will be apparent that if the neck of the container is of relatively large outside diameter the positions of the sections 55 and 56 of the retainer bracket are reversed, FIGURE 7, and the arcuate shoulder 70 of the section 51 will co-operate with the arcuate shoulder 46 of the bottom end wall to engage the neck of the tube and hold it against upward displacement.
When it is desired to remove the tube from which a portion or all of the contents have been ejected or dispensed, the housing is merely moved forwardly away from the base plate, the retainer bracket is removed from the housing, and the neck of the tube is moved rearwardly out of the slot 45. The tube may then be unwrapped from the bar 80 the bar being rotated as required to cause such un- Wrapping of the collapsed and empty tube therefrom. A new container or tube may then be installed in the dispenser in the manner described.
The base plate, the knobs and the housing are preferably forrned of a suitable easily cleaned plastic and the bar and the retainer bracket of a corrosion resistant easily cleaned metal, such as stainless steel.
It will now be apparent that a new and improved dispenser of simple economical construction has been illustrated and described which is easily securable to any supporting structure either by means of screws 29a or the support strips 29.
It will further be seen that the dispenser includes a substantially box-shaped or rectangular housing releasably securable to a base plate and having a bar extending through the housing and rotatably and vertically movable therein for wrapping the closed or upper end of a collapsible container thereabout to collapse the container and eject its contents.
It will also be seen that the engagement of the pins 30 of the base plate in the bores 31 of the housing prevents any angular displacement of the housing relative to the base plate and therein relatively tight t in the bores increase the frictional force holding the housing against removal from its telescoped position on the base plate.
It will further be seen that the dispenser includes a new and improved means for holding the neck of the collapsible container against upward movement into the housing so that the wrapping of the upper end portions of the container due to the rotation of the bar causes the tube to collapse thus ejecting or dispensing its contents through its neck which extends downwardly of the bottom end wall of the housing.
The foregoing description of the invention is explanatory only, and changes in the details of the construction illustrated may be made by those skilled in the art, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
What is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:
1. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of -said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a
retainer bracket having a first section extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and a second section extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end Wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said first section having a slot aligned with said slot of said bottom end wall and providing a forwardly facing arcuate shoulder, said slots being aligned with one another, the neck of a container in the housing extending downwardly through said slots, and having opposite surfaces engaged by said arcuate shoulders of said rst section and said bottom end wall, said rst section engaging a lateral protrusion of the neck of the container to limit its upward movement relative to said housing.
2. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate, said base plate having means on its rear surface for adhesively securing said base plate to a fixed structure; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for securing the closed end of the collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a retainer bracket having a first section extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and a second section extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said first section having a slot aligned with said slot of said bottom end wall and providing a forwardly facing arcuate shoulder, said slots being aligned with one another, the neck of a container in the housing extending downwardly through said slots and having opposite surfaces engaged by said arcuate shoulders of said iirst section and said bottom end wall, said iirst section engaging a lateral protrusion of the neck of the container to limit its upward movement relative to said housing.
3. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said base plate and said housing having coengageable means for holding said housing in proper alignment on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its vopposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a retainer bracket having a first section extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and a second section extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said first section having a slot aligned with said slot of said bottom end wall and providing a forwardly facing arcuate shoulder, said slots being aligned with one another, the neck of a container in the housing extending downwardly through said slots and having opposite surfaces engaged by said arcuate shoulders of said first section and said bottom end wall, said first section engaging a lateral protrusion of the neck of the container to limit its upward movement relative to said housing.

A device for dispensing the lcontents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said means at the opposite ends of said shaft comprising knobs having hubs extending inwardly through said slots of said side walls and rigidly secured to opposite ends of said shaft, said shaft having means `for securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a retainer bracket having a first section extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and a second section extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said first section having a slot aligned with said slot of said bottom end wall and providing a forwardly facing arcuate shoulder, said slots being aligned with one another, the neck `of a container in the housing extending downwardly end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate; a housing having -a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending -rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said means at the opposite ends of said shaft comprising knobs having hubs extending inwardly through -said slots of said side walls and rigidly secured to opposite ends of said shaft; said shaft having a longitudinal slot in which a flattened closed end of a collapsible container is receivable; said shaft having means for securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a retainer bracket having a iirst section extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and a second section extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said rst section having a slot aligned with said slot of said bottom end wall and providing a forwardly facing arcuate shoulder, said slots being aligned with one another, the neck of .a container in the housing extending downwardly through said slots and having opposite surfaces engaged by said arcuate shoulders of said rst section and said bottom end wall, said first section engaging a lateral protrusion of the neck of the container to limit its upward movement relative to said housing.
7. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side vwalls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for securing the closed end of the collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a retainer bracket having a first section extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and a section extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said rst section having a slot aligned with said slot of said bottom end wall and providing a forwardly facing arcuate shoulder, said slots being aligned with one another, the neck lof the container in the housing extending downwardly through said slots and having opposite surfaces engaged by said arcuate .shoulders of said first section and said bottom end wall, said first section engaging -a lateral protrusion of the neck of the container to limit its upward movement relative to said hou-sing, Said first section and said bot-tom end wall having coengageable means for holding said first section against downward and lateral displacement relative to said bottom end wall.
8. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having lone end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side Walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a Shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said Ishaft having means for securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a substantially L-shaped retainer bracket having an arcuate connector section and a pair of planar sections extending angularly from one another from said connector section, eac'h of -said planar sections having a slot opening longitudinally outwardly of said connector section, each of said slots being defined by a pair of spaced arms of its planar section and an arcuate shoulder, said slots of said planar section being of different widths, one of said planar section-s extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and the other of ysaid planar sections eX- tending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said slot of said one of said planar sections and said slot of said bottom end wall.
9. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base; -a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and side walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned slots; a shaft extending lhorizontally through said housing between said lside walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for `Securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a substantially L-shaped retainer bracket having an arcuate connector section and a pair of planar sections extending angularly from one another from said connector section, each of said planar sections having a slot opening longitudinally outwardly of said connect-or section, each of said slots being defined by a pair of spaced arms of its planar section and an arcuate shoulder, said `slots of said planar section being of diiferent widths, one of said planar sections extending forwardly below said bottom end wall and the other of said planar sections extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said slot of said one of said planar `sections and said slot of said bottom end wall, said bottom end wall having downwardly extending retainer means located forwardly of said slot of said bottom end walls, said arms of said one of said sections being engaged by and held against lateral and downwardly displacement in said -retainer means.
10. shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said sidewalls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for securing the closed-end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; a substantially L-shaped retainer bracket having an arcuate connector section and a pair of planar sections extending angularly from one another from said connector section, each of said planar sections having a slot opening longitudinally outwardly of said connector section, each of said slots being dened by a pair of spaced arms of its planar section and an arcuate shoulder, said slots of said planar section being of different widths, one of said planar sections extending forwardly below .said bottom end wall and the other of said planar sections extending upwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall of said housing and engaging said base plate, said slot of said one of said planar sections and said slot of said bottom end wall, said bottom end wall having downwardly extending retainer means located forwardly of said slot of said bottom end walls, said arms of said one of said sections being engaged by and held against lateral and downwardly displacement in said retainer means, said retainer means comprising a dependent flange having a pair of slots extending forwardly therethrough, said arms of said one of said sections extending through said slots of said dependent flange.
11. A device for dispensing the contents of an elongate collapsible container having one end closed and the other end provided with a neck having an outlet passage and a laterally outwardly extending protrusion, said device including: a substantially rectangular base plate; a housing having a vertical front wall and top, bottom and lside walls extending rearwardly from said front wall, said housing being telescoped on said base plate, said side walls having longitudinal vertical aligned` slots; a shaft extending horizontally through said housing between said side walls and having means at its opposite ends extending outwardly of said housing through said slots, said shaft being rotatable by said means extending outwardly of said shaft, said shaft having means for securing the closed end of a collapsible container thereto, said bottom end wall having a slot providing a rearwardly facing arcuate shoulder; and means operatively associated with said housing and cooperable with said arcuate shoulder for releasably holding the neck of a container disposed in said housing and extending downwardly through said slot of said bottom end wall against displacement relative to said housing.

Claims (1)

1. A DEVICE FOR DISPENSING THE CONTENTS OF AN ELONGATE COLLAPLIBLE CONTAINER HAVING ONE END CLOSE AND THE OTHER END PROVIDED WITH A NECK HAVING AN OUTLET PASSAGE AND A LATERALLY OUTWARDLY EXTENDING PROTRUSION, SAID DEVICE INCLUDING: A SUBSTANTIALLY RECTANGULAR BASE PLATE; A HOUSING HAVING A VERTICAL FRONT WALL AND TOP, BOTTOM AND SIDE WALLS EXTENDING REARWARDLY FROM SAID FRONT WALL, SAID HOUSING BEING TELESCOPED ON SAID BASE PLATE, SAID SIDE WALLS HAVING LONGITUDINAL VERTICAL ALIGNED SLOTS; A SHAFT EXTENDING HORIZONTALLY THROUGH SAID HOUSING BETWEEN SAID SIDE WALLS AND HAVONG MEANS AT ITS OPPOSITE ENDS EXTENDING OUTWARDLY OF SAID HOUSING THROUGH SAID SLOTS, SAID SHAFT BEING ROTATABLE BY SAID MEANS EXTENDING OUTWARDLY OF SAID SHAFT, AND SHAFT HAVING MEANS FOR SECURING TE LOSED END OF A COLLAPSIBLE CONTAINER THERETO, SAID BOTTOM END WALL HAVING A SLOT PROVIDING A REARWARDLY FACING ARCURATE SHOULDER; A RETAINER BRACKET HAVING A FIRST SECTION EXTENDING FORWARDLY BELOW SAID BOTTOM END WALL AND A SECOND SECTION EXTENDING UPWARDLY THROUGH SAID SLOT OF SAID BOTTOM END WALL OF SAID HOUSING AND ENGAGING SAID BASE PLATE, SAID FIRST SECTION HAVING A SLOT ALIGNED WITH SAID SLOT OF SAID BOTTOM END WALL AND PROVIDING A FORWARDLY FACING ARCURATE SHOULDER, SAID SLOTS BEING ALIGNED WITH ONE ANOTHER, THE NECK OF A CONTAINER IN THE HOUSING EXTENDING DOWNWARDLY THROUGH SAID SLOTS, AND HAVING OPPOSITE SURFACES ENGAGED BY SAID ARCUATE SHOULDERS OF SAID FIRST SECTON AND SAID BOTTOM END WALL, SAID FIRST SECTION ENGAGING A LATERAL PROTRUSION OF THE NECK OF THE CONTAINR TO LIMIT ITS UPWARD MOVEMENT RELATIVE TO SAID HOUSING.
