GOBLET HOLDER.

N PETERS PhatoLilhogmphqr. Washingion, x1e.
I UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ELMER OLAREN BAKER, OF NEWPORT, NEW HAMPSHIRE.
GOBLET-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 383,092, dated May 22, 1888.
Application filed November 14, 1887. Serial No. 255.079.
To all whom it may concern:
7 Be it known that I, ELMER CLARENCE BA- KER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newport, in the county of Sullivan and State of New Hampshire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Goblet-Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
The special object of theinvention is to construct an article which will conveniently hold goblets under a shelf, where they will be less liable to breakage, but may be easily reached when wanted.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a perspective View of my invention applied under a shelf or counter, and Fig. 2 a detail view in perspective of myimproved tumbler'holder.
In the drawings, A represents my holder, made of a single piece of wire bent in the middle at a, so as to form the U-shaped seat a, on which the goblets or tumblers may rest, as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. Each side is then provided with a right-angled bend, a and the arms a a are extended parallel to each other until they come to the bends a a,which are at right angles to arms a and in an oppo- (No model.)
site direction. Thearms a a are thus brought in alignment with each other until they reach the right'angled bends a a From the latter the Wire is extended to form the arms a a which are parallel to each other and provided with the right-angled eyes 0. a through which pass the nails or screws which attach them to the shelf or counter. In practice I find them very convenient, and they save the breakage of many goblets.
I am aware that it is not new to use wire for holding crockery and dishes; but I do not know and do not believe that wire has ever before been shaped like my gobletholder, so as to adapt it conveniently to the same purpose.
Having thus described all that is necessary to a full understanding of my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is
A new article of manufacture consisting of a goblet-holder made of a single piece of wire bent on a right angle at a a a to form arms a a a bent at a to form the U-shaped seat a, and provided with the right-angled end eyes, a a, as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
ELMER CLARENCE BAKER.
