Abstract
An overall building system consisting of field-assembled, precast components, reinforcing means embedded within site-poured concrete that forms portions of the wall and floor surfaces of the building, with the reinforcing means serving to structurally unite the precast concrete components with the site-poured concrete and support the same against tension forces, shear forces, and lateral shafting forces. The precast components include vertical load bearing walls each having vertical voids from top to bottom therein, building slabs preferable of half and full thickness adapted to span the bearing walls and receive reinforcing means thereon as well as concrete, precast stairs, an elevator module for each floor of the building, reinforcing means for tension, shear, and lateral shifting prevention purposes, and site-poured concrete first filling the voids of the load bearing wall and then serving as a floor covering for the slabs.

Claims (13)
1. A unitized building of the character described, comprising: A. precast concrete components including 1. vertical load bearing walls arranged in pairS and in parallel relationship with each other to form a building bay having a length dimension and a width dimension, with each said bearing wall having a series of vertical voids extending from top to bottom internally thereof; 2. parallelly arranged floor truss slabs that are horizontally positioned between inner and outer perimeter slabs of substantially greater thickness in parallel spanning relationship to the width dimension of each said bay; 3. said floor truss slabs and said perimeter slabs being supported, in laterally abutted relationship, on the facing longitudinal edges of one pair of said bearing walls in noncovering relationship with the voids thereof; B. shear dowels received in said vertical voids of vertically adjacent bearing walls; C. tension steel horizontally spanning said vertical voids and being positioned on the upper faces of said floor truss slabs in adjacent building bays whereby said tension steel will prevent said longitudinally adjacent floor truss slabs from shifting relatively of each other; D. lateral steel positioned over said floor truss slabs beneath the uppermost surface of said perimeter slabs and extending transversely therefrom for co-action with a transversely adjacent floor truss slab; E. site-poured concrete filling said vertical voids and covering said tension steel, the central portion of said shear dowels, said lateral steel, and covering said floor truss slabs to the height of said perimeter slabs whereby the floor portion of each floor of said building is formed.
2. parallelly arranged floor truss slabs that are horizontally positioned between inner and outer perimeter slabs of substantially greater thickness in parallel spanning relationship to the width dimension of each said bay;

2. The building of claim 1 wherein one said perimeter slab has a utility core structure secured thereto to define a heart module.
3. The building of claim 1 further characterized by the presence of corridor slabs that span the space between longitudinally adjacent building bays.
3. supported on the edge portions of said bearing walls in spaced-apart relationship with each other, whereby said voids of said bearing walls are accessible, and
3. said floor truss slabs and said perimeter slabs being supported, in laterally abutted relationship, on the facing longitudinal edges of one pair of said bearing walls in non-covering relationship with the voids thereof; B. shear dowels received in said vertical voids of vertically adjacent bearing walls; C. tension steel horizontally spanning said vertical voids and being positioned on the upper faces of said floor truss slabs in adjacent building bays whereby said tension steel will prevent said longitudinally adjacent floor truss slabs from shifting relatively of each other; D. lateral steel positioned over said floor truss slabs beneath the uppermost surface of said perimeter slabs and extending transversely therefrom for co-action with a transversely adjacent floor truss slab; E. site-poured concrete filling said vertical voids and covering said tension steel, the central portion of said shear dowels, said lateral steel, and covering said floor truss slabs to the height of said perimeter slabs whereby the floor portion of each floor of said building is formed.
4. Being arranged equi-distant from the center line of the corridor portion of said building; E. corridor beams transversely spanning the space between said heart module and being supported on the longitudinal ends of said bearing walls; F. precast corridor sections supported at their opposed ends on said corridor beams and having a thickness approximating a thickness of said floor topping slabs; G. stair portions vertically interconnecting successive corridors of adjacent floors; H. a series of non load-bearing walls spanning the space between parallel load-bearing walls in right angle relationship therewith for dwelling unit closure purposes, with said non load-bearing walls defining opposed perimeter portions of said building; I. opposed precast vertically arranged load-bearing end walls arranged in parallel relationship with said first mentioned load-bearing walls and defining opposed perimeter portions of said building; J. roof means covering the uppermost series of dwelling units and enclosing said building to the elements; K. first site-positioned reinforcing means positioned in vertically aligned relationship within the voids of vertically adjacent load bearing walls following site pouring of concrete; L. second field-positioning means horizontally disposed on top of horizontally adjacent floor topping and corridor slabs and being embedded within said site-poured concrete beneath the floor surface thereof on each floor; M. third site-positioned reinforcing means projecting from the floor portion of each said heart module and extending over the surface of said corridor topping slabs, said floor topping slabs, and said bearing walls whereby the same will be embedded beneath the floor surface of each said floor following site pouring of said concrete; N. balcony slabs corresponding in approximate thickness to the thickness of the slab portion of said heart module, with said balcony slabs being supported on their opposed ends by said bearing walls in side-by-side parallel relationship with said floor topping slabs; O. fourth field-positioned reinforcing means projecting laterally from one edge of said balcony slab in overlying relationship with the adjacent floor topping slab whereby the same will be embedded within said field-positioned concrete; P. site-poured concrete at each floor level of said building poured
4. The building of claim 3 wherein said perimeter slabs have removable projecting reinforcing means that overlie the surface of adjacent floor truss slabs and corridor slabs; said site-poured concrete covering said reinforcing means.
5. The building of claim 4 wherein said perimeter slabs are full thickness and said floor truss slabs and said corridor truss slabs are half thickness.
6. The building of claim 1 further characterized by the presence of precast stair units that are structurally interconnected to said precast concrete components of successive floors.
7. The building of claim 1 further characterized by the presence of an elevator module having a plurality of vertical through voids in the walls thereof structurally interconnected to said precast components of successive floors by said site-poured concrete filling said vertical voids of said elevator modules on each floor.

A partially ''''precast'''' and partially ''''cast in place'''' building that includes a plurality of separate dwelling units of the character described, comprising; A. foundation means; B. a series of precast, vertically positionable bearing walls arranged in parallel relationship with each other to form a building bay, with each bearing wall having a series of vertical voids located centrally thereof and extending from top to bottom of said walls; C. a series of elongated, precast floor truss slabs each spanning the space between adjacent said bearing walls and each being supported at their longitudinal ends by the outer edge portion of said bearing walls, whereby said voids of said walls are accessible following positioning of said floor topping slabs on said bearing walls; D. a series of precast heart modules each
