P. DUHRKOP. BAKERS OVEN.
(No Model.)
UNTTED STATES PATENT Trice.
FRITZ DI-IRKOP, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
BAKERS OVEN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 380,556, dated April 3, 1888.
Application filed October 21, 1857. Serial No. 252,985. l(No model.)
To @ZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRITZ Dmmer, of New York, county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Bakers Oven,of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a bakers oven of novel construction; and it consists in the various features of improvement more fully pointed out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure lis a vertical transverse section of my oven on the lines x a: a," ,Figs. 2 and ei. Fig. 2 is a hori zontal section on line :1/ y, Fig. l. Fig. 3 is a similar section on the line z z, Fig. l; and Fig. 4 is a similar section on the line w w, Fig. l.
The letter a represents the fire-place of the oven, divided fromflues b at the right and left by means of the partition c. The fire-place a and the lues Z2 are provided with arched roofs d, as shown. These roofs separate the iire-plaee and the flues from a large airspace, e, situated directly beneath the entire base or iioorf of the baking-chamber g, such door being supported by an offset on the side walls,h, of the oven. The baking-chamber g is provided with a double arched roof, i i', between which the partitions j form a series of flues, lc k'. The heat and products of combustion travel to the rear of the fire-chamber a, thence around the partitions c to the lines b. After having traversed the dues b the heat passes upward through vertical ilues Z and into the two outwardilues, it', th ence around partitions j to central dues, la, and finally out of stackm.
Thus the oven is properly and uniformly heated at the top and bottom. The air-space e between the roofs d and the base f of the oven I deem of considerable importance. The heat which is radiated upward from the firechamber a and ues Z1 heats the air in the space e. This heated air imparts to the bal ing-chamber g a uniform degree of heat, which greatly facilitates and improves the baking operation.
n are dempers in partitions c for throwing the heat directly from the reehamber a into the flues b.
Vhat I claim is" l. The combination of roofed Iirerhamber a and lines b with baking-chambery, and with an intervening airspace, e, substantially as specified.
2. The combination of tire-chamber c and flues b, with which saidIire-chamber commu' nicates, with the oven Lr/,and with an intervening air-space, e, and with a double roof, ti', and iues Z, connecting the iiues b with the Space between said double root', substantially as specified.
3. The combination of lire-chamber a', and fines b with the snperposed air-space e, snperposed baking-chamber g, having double roof 'i t" and fines k k', and with the upright fines Z, connecting dues Zi with fines is', substantially as specified.
F. DUHRKOP.
